I truly enjoyed Oceanhorn in a way I haven't enjoyed a game in a long time. Besides the lack of a real challenge the game is pretty much perfect for me.
Anyone who has any experience with the older Zelda games will immediately feel at home in this new 3D world.
Oceanhorn - Monster of Uncharted Seas is a title that has come a very long way. Originally releasing as an App on Apple's iOS, it has since seen releases on the PC, the Mac OS, and most recently both Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's XB1. Using both a game play and visual style that pays homage to a few of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda games, you are tasked with searching the seas for a way to defeat the mechanical sea monster known as Oceanhorn.
Fans waiting on that next great adventure would do wise to check out this under-the-radar gem. It may borrow a lot of its aesthetic and mechanics from a certain pointy-eared hero, but it has a charm all its own. I can't recommend it enough to fans of the adventure genre. The small price is more than worth the hefty adventure that lies ahead.
Oceanhorn is an optical and playful high-quality Zelda clone with a lot of charm, that is definitely worth a sailing trip.

I really liked my time with the game for my Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas review. It's a colorful and fun adventure that is the perfect length – it certainly knows it shouldn't overstay its welcome. It's a great option for all PlayStation 4 owners who crave a good adventure at home, and trophy hunters will have a lot of fun with it. I highly recommend that you play this one today!
Overall the game is a decent action-adventure, closely mimicking one of gaming's most iconic franchises. It may have everything on what makes it a Zelda game but it didnt quite get what makes a Zelda game great, but to its own Oceanhorn is a very good game.
While it has been around for quite awhile, Oceanhorn on PS Vita feels like the best way to play the game.
Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas is solid, though, especially for anyone longing for a throwback 2D adventure game. The story isn't terribly long, but there's plenty to collect along the way, and the included DLC island adds just enough to push Oceanhorn to a very satisfying content level. Just remember that this is not Zelda and you'll have a good time.
While highly derivative of The Legend of Zelda series, Oceanhorn is a beautiful and expertly-crafted game that will delight fans of the genre.
Exploring the world of Oceanhorn was great, and I loved it. I noticed that the controls were a bit stiff, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. The main campaign should last you around 15 hours, which is a good length for this type of experience. Playing this one for my Oceanhorn review really was a highlight of my week, and hopefully you can give it a try today!
Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas is a pleasantly surprising homage to a classic adventure series. It may not bring anything new to the table, but its mimicking of old mechanics and ideas are done well enough that you can forgive it. The game length is good, the presentation is close to excellent, and the gameplay issues you'll encounter are minimal. For those who want an adventure reminiscent of the classics, Oceanhorn fits the bill nicely.

OK, I know what you are thinking…didn’t they already review this game? And the answer is yes, but not on the Nintendo Switch. We wanted to take some time and test out this title again on Nintendo’s hardware. Kyle reviewed this one originally, and now it’s time to get my take on it. I did not read Kyle’s review again before reviewing this myself, so lets see how close we both felt on Oceanhorn.
Oceanhorn is fairly cliché, but it works. It's a tried and tested formula for great adventure games, and that's exactly what Oceanhorn is. While maybe not quite an 'instant classic', it certainly fills a Zelda-shaped void in the non-Nintendo market.
Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas seems to have found its rightful place on Nintendo Switch and I'm delighted I can add it to my collection on the system.
As a homage to the likes of A Link to the Past and The Wind Waker, Oceanhorn is a brief comfortable experience that can now be enjoyed on the big screen.
