Far Cry 6: Lost Between Worlds’ interdimensional structure is an inventive way to cap off Dani’s story despite playing it safe in most other ways.

Lost Between Worlds feels like a creative misstep for the Far Cry franchise. Though it is refreshing to see the series attempt new things, none of the additions are well-realized enough to justify the existence of this add-on.

Far Cry 6: Lost Between Worlds feels like a bit of a wash, echoing too much of what came prior in the base game and DLCs. With required repeated runs through the same environments and a new combat mechanic that doesn't amount to much, this expansion doesn't provide much players haven't seen before outside of a strange new story for Dani Rojas.

Lost Between Worlds is a contained DLC, yet it struggles to offer, in the approximately two hours needed to complete it, a completely satisfying experience.

Far Cry 6: Lost Between Worlds feels more like an experiment rather than a full-fledged release. The roguelite mode doesn't really add any new compelling element to the game, and the core shooting in Far Cry 6 certainly isn't strong enough to carry an expansion on its own. While Lost Between Worlds might be an attempt to bring players back to the game, the expansion doesn't really offer anything in the way of rewards for actually doing so.

Lost Between Worlds is the latest unnecessary DLC in a sixth chapter that clearly shows numerous cracks in its structure. After the three DLCs dedicated to the main villains of the previous games, the result of a lazy reskin that we have already widely criticized, this last content fails to raise the fate of a series that absolutely needs to reinvent itself right away, if it does not want to sink slowly into the great sea of mediocrity.

Far Cry 6 Lost Between Worlds is a somewhat strange idea, but it sometimes even works. I would like to see a more rewarding approach in the early stages, as it is too boring because of a slow move allied to uninteresting enemies. The idea of combining weapon damage with colors is positive, but it feels like it's short. After finishing, I found no incentive to return to play, which contradicts a little the construction of the skills that Dani acquires, they are at the peak at the end of it all. The challenge of returning to the Rifts is null, there is nothing new to visualize.

Outside of some trippy, awe-inspiring vistas that throw Yara into space, the only impressive thing about this DLC is that it is the fourth time Ubisoft has failed to turn Far Cry 6 into a compelling roguelite.

Lost Between Worlds is a six-hour experience that, at its best, is a fun exploration of stunning locations, and, at its worst, a redundant game broken by its premise.
