The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution shifts the series' balance from survival horror to action with skill, but its story is weaker and its technical demands are beyond what the Meta Quest 2 can handle.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution is still unacceptably janky on PlayStation VR2, but major improvements make it worth the hassle this time out.

More up close and personal zombie slaying in post-apocalyptic New Orleans, retaining the original's focus on exploration and crafting, and its relentlessly uninspiring combat.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution is a tense, complex and physically demanding survival horror. There aren't many new features compared to its predecessor, but if you have PSVR2 you absolutely must play it.

Bottom line, if you haven’t played the original The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, I would not recommend you start with this sequel. It’s like starting to watch a movie halfway through. But if you have played it, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution is a great continuation and maybe even a must-play. It’s got all of what made the first game very great, plus a few improvements and additions. For me, returning to post-zombie-apocalypse New Orleans has been uncomfortable, unpleasant … and fun as hell.

It isn't quite a full-on sequel and doesn't do much to move the franchise forward, but Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2 is still an incredibly enjoyable extra helping of walker-slaying entertainment. Its smattering of new additions and novelties prove compelling enough to make post-apocalyptic New Orleans worth the revisit, especially if you passed on the initial Quest 2 release for a more polished, well-performing, and visually pleasing product.

If for whatever reason you skipped out on the initial Meta Quest 2 release of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution, then the PS VR2 version is definitely the way to go. While Chapter 2 doesn't reinvent the wheel or present a full-fledged sequel, Skydance Interactive has still provided enough polish and content to the experience to warrant a revisit to post-apocalyptic New Orleans.

A fine second chapter to one of the original PSVR's brightest spots. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution breathes fresh life into the Saints & Sinners formula without straying too far from where it began.

Immersion, great comfort and atmosphere to spare: The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2 offers very little new compared to the previous chapter, also due to a less interesting adventure, but the survival mechanics still work well and the result is a pleasure to play, especially on PS VR2.

The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners 2 is not a bad game, but a bad sequel. It's certainly entertaining and successful in many ways, but it's no different from the first game. Yes, it's a sequel directly related to the first episode, but still. The new features can be counted on the fingers of one hand and are not sufficiently marked to really add value. Except maybe the night sorties, which are fun, a bit creepy and devilishly stressful. A very honest and fun PSVR 2 game, but not essential.

While it's not a full-blown sequel and doesn't do much to revolutionize the saga, The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution remains that formidable mix of survival horror and action that focuses on immersion and physical involvement, fully hitting the target.

This is one of the most fleshed-out VR games I've played thus far, with little to no glitches. Overall, this game has become one of my favorites to play in my off time when I feel in the mood for VR, and it is one of the best Zombie games I have played to date.

But if you’ve played Saints & Sinners, and can forgive the Quest 2 version’s occasional graphical shortcomings, you’ll be in zombie-wrangling heaven with this follow-up. Being knee deep in the dead has rarely been this much fun.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution is an exercise in restraint. It adds content where it makes sense and expands the known formula in a few different directions. It never reinvents any part of what made the first game so revolutionary, and it doesn't need to. By the time you start swinging a chainsaw through a group of zombies, you've probably forgotten about the lack of innovation on display and are appreciating Retribution for what it is: more of the same fun in one of the best VR games to date. The only real downside is that the Quest 2's technical limitations put a noticeable dent in the presentation. If you have the means and patience, waiting for the full PC release in February would be my recommendation. For everyone else, this is a good, if technically flawed, version of a great VR game.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution is an incredibly immersive and rich post-apocalyptic experience. However, its high degree of realism is exactly one of its negative points. Another problem is that it's basically mandatory to play its predecessor. The summary presented is not enough to understand everything that happened and make you care about the characters.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners ' Chapter 2: Retribution isn't a bad game, but it's still a bit disappointing. Instead of a true sequel, we got a bloated expansion that loses the sense of improvements and progression. It's like you're just playing a new story in an old game. Plus, it doesn't help that a stereotype creeps in over time.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution is a thrilling experience that’s a million times better to play in PlayStation VR 2. It looks fantastic, the combat is engrossing, whilst the freedom offered in how you approach each situation ensures players will be kept on their toes in their chaotic fight for survival. It does have some minor technical bugs and the fact that it doesn’t change up too much over the original is a little disappointing, but neither issue stops The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution from being a ton of fun to play.

While The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution doesn’t squash all the bugs that festered within the Meta Quest 2 release last year, it’s a significant improvement that fans of the series should check out; just don’t go in expecting a full-on sequel. With its fantastic, physics-based brawls that make excellent use of the PSVR2’s Sense controllers, sending the undead back to the grave has never felt better. If you’re a fan of the series or survival horror games (with an emphasis on survival) in general, this one’s worth adding to your PSVR2 library.

"The Walking Dead: Saint & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution" seamlessly follows on from the good performance of the first part, but still shouldn't inspire everyone equally. If you remember the interesting story of the first part and the stealth as highlights, you might not like the changed focus. If you felt underchallenged in part 1, you should get your money's worth, especially in the night excursions. For those interested, however, we recommend playing part 1 first, as the introduction was not solved optimally. Fans of survival horror titles should definitely grab this one.
