Children of Silentown has a thought-provoking story, with an art style that is impossible not to enjoy. A point and click adventure spanning over five chapters to enjoy – if you can get past the infuriating mini games – there’s much to be fond of. Unfortunately, the story ends abruptly, but your journey up till then will be full of mystery and intrigue.

There are plenty of reasons to be boisterous about Silentown, not all of them positive.

"Children of Silentown" is a work that is very serious and makes you think. If you're in the mood for it, then it's worth taking a look. Escaping the grey everyday life is rather unsuccessful. But just to watch Squinty (Lucy's cat), playing was worth it in the end.

A short but sweet adventure game for the fans of the genre. Sadly, they'll have to deal with some frustrating mini-games and not the most satisfying finale.

Children of Silentown applies the same formula to the traditional point & click adventure genre but augments it with some interesting elements like a unique art style and some really interesting puzzles. Although it does manage to be intriguing and keep you engaged till the end, it fails to deliver the conclusion of an otherwise enjoyable journey.

Children of Silentown is a nice-looking but bland adventure game due to basic puzzles and mundane objectives, although its second half shows more potential.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews compare Children of Silentown to something from Tim Burton, and I can see why: it’s kind of a dark, modern-day fairy tale with muted tones and a creepy soundtrack. However, it can very easily stand on its own without that comparison, which is why I waited this long to even bring it up. The gameplay is pretty standard but also very well done. The minigames could be tweaked a bit; leaving your player feeling stupid isn’t exactly a good thing. But the story overshadows a lot of my complaints: it’s intriguing, it’s heartfelt, it’s scary. It’s not the best game you’ll ever play, but the developers have tried to make something distinct, at least.

Children of Silentown is a beautiful, haunting game. It has a deeper meaning that is unveiled at the end. The ending can be interpreted differently depending on which of the four endings is unlocked. Even though it is a little creepy, it is not so scary that I couldn’t enjoy the game. While I wasn’t a fan of the difficult puzzles, I definitely enjoyed Lucy’s character and the story. If you enjoy point-and-click adventures with a touch of psychological horror, Children of Silentown is the game for you.

Despite fumbling at the finish line, Children of Silentown presents an intriguing story that illustrates how fear can cause people to lose sight of what’s important. The puzzles are reasonably challenging and varied, with appealing visuals that help amplify the game’s moody atmosphere. Although the pacing drags in certain areas, Children of Silentown is an enjoyable point-and-click game overall and I would recommend it for both fans of the genre and puzzle game aficionados alike.

Children of Silentown is a point-and-click adventure that, for both good and bad, wouldn’t feel out of place in the catalog of Amanita Design, developers of Machinarum and Botanicula. It strikes a similar mix of striking art, unique music, and classic adventure game mechanics with just a hint of innovation. Yet Children of Silentown appears a distinctively less inspired game than those mentioned above, with no strong theme or thesis to bring the whole experience together.

Children of Silentown is a very solid and enjoyable point and click adventure. While it’s not particularly innovative, or very long, what it lacks in length and originality, it more than makes up for with polish and atmosphere.

Children of Silentown is a fantastic game that conjures imagery of a Tim Burton-esque world. The gorgeous visuals combined with the slow and methodical gameplay create a tight gameplay loop. These facets, interweaved with the fascinating narrative lead to a full experience. Though the slow pace and difficult puzzles may hold some players back, the title rewards players for persistence with an entertaining and intriguing title.

Even if it does get wrapped up in its own mechanics at times, Children of Silentown is a charmingly creepy point-and-click adventure with lots of lore and plenty of heart.

Children of Silentown tells a very gripping and intriguing story accompanied by eye-catching hand-drawn graphics. The mechanic of solving some puzzles by singing a song have added a nice innovation to the game (reminded me of Loom) and although it has some troubles with a certain puzzle type, I can easily say that it provides a satisfactory progression for players who like this genre.

A incredibly insipid journey of bad design, put through the minds of youth that fails to answer any of the questions asked, instead being the kind of point-n-click title that saw the genre die in the minds of the majority.
