It's hard to compare The Wolf Among Us to any of Telltale's previous work, however, so far the series is without a doubt one of the studio's best, but not their finest.

The Wolf Among Us Episode 3: A Crooked Mile is probably the best in the series so far, managing to feature quite a few intense situations and fleshed out gameplay sequences. It also shows a bigger scope on the whole Fabletown murder mystery, so it's going to be interesting to see how it concludes in the next two parts.

Short yet sensationally bittersweet, A Crooked Mile puts The Wolf Among Us back on form. Expect powerful performances, perfect pacing, gutwrenching decisions and even more opportunities to define Bigby as a unique, charismatic and nuanced character. Outstanding - so here's hoping that the final two episodes can deliver.

If nothing else, Telltale's third episode in the serialized fairytale noir A Crooked Mile certainly knows what it's about.

Ultimately, the small hindrances don't hold A Crooked Mile back from being one of the best episodes Telltale has ever done.

The Wolf Among Us: Episode 3 - A Crooked Mile is a mixed bag. It's certainly the weakest episode of the series to date, but it is still an entertaining story that drives the investigation forwards, closing off some leads and opening up others. While it may not be the most thrilling ride so far it will hopefully serve as a launching point for a strong final two instalments.

A Crooked Mile is a great Adventure game episode on its own, but I would consider it weaker than the first two episodes. We made very little progress in this episode and I hope Telltale has something special planned in the next two episodes. I still recommend you guys grabbing it if you don't have the season pass yet.

Detractors of the second episode are likely to get even more chirpy after playing 'A Crooked Mile,' but I completely welcome the well-focused story, investigative avenues, and the excising of the less compelling, enter a room and click things formula. Bigby and Fabletown have grown into vivid characters worth playing while the series seems to be subtly approaching a critical mass. While it would be luxurious if Telltale would spring for more music tracks and some achievement-worthy objectives, the hope has to be that the final two episodes of the series can maintain the high quality achieved in the second and third episodes.

A slight dip in dialogue quality does not impede what is otherwise another sterling offering from Telltale, with the consistently slick visuals and soundtrack complemented by a nice increase in pace thanks to the clock mechanic and multiple choice locations. Whilst, as I've stated above, I do have some concerns about the long-term impact of my decisions in the game; the three-way choice of places to visit and the introduction of the clock countdown did at least give the central portion of this episodic narrative series at the very least an illusion of more depth and narrative flexibility. Whilst this is let down on occasion by apparently arbitrary sections of gameplay, the overall pacing of the story should leave players with a wolfish appetite for more.

For this wheel-spinning middle chapter, The Wolf Among Us sits back, chuckling at a crack it's made in the middle of an epic joke, while its audience restlessly waits for the punchline.

Episode 3: A Crooked Mile is probably my favorite episode of the three thus far.

A Crooked Mile continues the Fabletown tale in fine form, elevating it above the weaker second chapter and putting it on a par with the first.

It's no longer something that is inspiring great enthusiasm or excitement from me, but it's also not something I feel the need to abandon midway through.

The Wolf Among Us Episode 3 is once again another fantastic adventure game from Telltale games. No, there aren't many puzzles to be solved, so if you are looking for a more traditional adventure experience you should probably look elsewhere. However, if you want perfect narrative, wonderful characters and a plot that will keep you guessing, then this is the game for you. If you have already stuck through The Wolf Among Us Episode 1 and 2, you should certainly continue with 3, and if you haven't played any episodes of The Wolf Among Us yet, seriously consider picking up a season pass just to try this episode out.

A Crooked Mile marks a strong midpoint in Bigby Wolf's magical dead hooker mystery tour. The writing keeps you on your toes and manages to evoke some pathos, even without any big twists to prop it up.

'A Crooked Mile' is not at the level one has come to expect from Telltale, however, has just enough interesting moments and intrigue, particularly at its end, to keep you interested in what is to come.

Though it feels a bit shorter than it should be, The Wolf Among Us: Episode 3 - A Crooked Mile offers a great mix of forwarding the plot, developing characters, and some intense action.
