GrimGrimoire OnceMore is a display of passion from the art to the character designs. It has a fun loop and is a very unique experience. The only negative comes with the shortness of the main game and the maps mainly go up and down.

GrimGrimoire OnceMore is an excellent remaster of a hidden gem from the PS2 era that finally gets the chance to receive the attention it deserves. Its 2D RTS system works exceptionally well and its story is as good as its gameplay.

undefined.GrimGrimoire OnceMore (with feeling) is a textbook example of how to retain an enjoyable experience and modernize it for a contemporary audience. The whimsical characters and art shine in HD, and the RTS gameplay holds up well on Switch. The stages do get a little repetitive as you make your way through the main story, but there's more than enough meat on these bones to justify a purchase for fans of Vanillaware's previous works or anyone looking for a satisfying RTS with a fantasy coat of paint.

GrimGrimoire OnceMore is a good title but suffers from some shortcomings. It is an unconventional title and clearly not on the level of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, but it still manages to be appreciated for what it is: a Japanese RTS on consoles.

GrimGrimoire OnceMore is a really interesting RTS with a remarkable, well-planned world. The high quality Vanillaware illustrations are only the cherry on top of a cake any strategy fan should give a try.

GrimGrimoire OnceMore was the first Vanillaware game to be published in 2007 and now it has been given a fine-tuning with the GrimGrimoire OnceMore remaster. This revision that has just landed for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch has improved the technical section with HD graphics and higher resolution, and has added some gameplay and accessibility improvements to finish polishing the original mechanics, as well as other extras. As a remaster, you can't ask for more because it clearly improves the original game, the only drawback is that it has not been translated into Spanish and that despite the improvements, GrimGrimoire is a very particular game and may not reach all audiences.

Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.

GrimGrimoire rises from its ashes, picking up and greatly improving a product that initially showed Vanillaware's inexperience in the RTS sector. It's still not perfect, but console-powered real-time strategy fans will hardly find better at the moment.

GrimGrimoire OnceMore is a great example of a remake done right. Instead of doing the bare minimum with a simple upscale and calling it a day, the game throws in several new mechanics such as Great Magic spells and a skill tree plus several quality of life additions. The RTS gameplay might be a bit too simple for hardcore fans of the genre. Its solid mechanics combined with an excellent story and beautiful hand-drawn visuals, however, make it a unique experience that’s certainly worth checking out.

Vanillaware fans will probably be sold based on the artwork and faith in the company alone. So if you’re sitting on the fence still, you’re going to have to trust your gut. All in all, I had a great time playing and my problems with the game are a symptom of how unique it is rather than an actual flaw.

Lillet Blan returns once more to the Silver Star Tower, but this time fixes some of the problems of the original game from 2007. Thanks to new content like the gallery, the skill tree and the quality of live improvements, GrimGrimoire OnceMore is the best and most beautiful version of the 15-year-old RTS game from VanillaWare and Nippon Ichi Software.

Unlike other Vanillaware games, GrimGrimoire Once More is not a game for the whole audience. If you connect with him and you are not frustrated by the "die, learn and try again" loop, you will have great moments with a careful mix of role-playing, strategy and tactics in real time and tower defense. Of course, it comes to us without translating...

It’s got a great set of characters, some solid gameplay and a lot of heart. It’s engaging, maybe more tower defense than true strategy, but still a great time sink for upwards of an hour at a time. I highly encourage players to take a look at this stunning update to a classic game and see what happens in a magic school where at least someone is competent.

GrimGrimoire One More seems like a solid remake of the original game from 2007. It is lacking something though that makes it another special entry in the roster of VanillaWare's games.
