Total War: Warhammer III - Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs Reviews
Total War: Warhammer 3: Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs introduces a much-needed new race and units, potentially signaling a faster pace for post-launch content. While not every mechanic introduced is as impressive as the flames of Hashut and the campaign revisits some familiar tactics, it never truly disappoints. The diverse roster of units is the true highlight of this expansion.
A scorching, over-the-top sendup of capital's morbid contempt for labour, Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs adds a wild new unit roster and a fun new campaign, and is an essential addition to Total War: Warhammer 3.
Obviously, no fan needs every faction and race. But if you love Total War: Warhammer III and the Chaos side of things, Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs is an excellent addition to the game. The Chaos Dwarfs bring a unique style of play and offer an engaging new way to experience the campaigns. The Chaos Dwarfs are also a ton of fun in skirmishes. It’s on the pricey side compared to prior DLC, but absolutely worth it for fans of the game.
I’ve tried each of the three Chorf factions, in both the base game campaign and the Immortal Empires game mode. And although they’ll likely get their fair share of nerfs and minor reworks in the coming months, I can confidently say that they’re one of the most consistently engrossing races in the vast world of Total War: Warhammer. Their armies are flexible, their economy is robust, and their political mind games keep campaigns interesting into the triple-digit turns. As with any addition to this digital facsimile of the Warhammer Fantasy world, their presence will have ripple effects in the game’s future. And as usual, I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Though its roster isn’t as cohesive as past Warhammer factions, Total War: Warhammer III - Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs is a welcome addition to the franchise, thanks to its excellent campaign mechanics.

Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs is a must-buy DLC for any fans of strategy games looking to challenge themselves, but the difficulty and higher price tag should be noted.
While overpriced and a bit content-light, Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs is still an essential addition, adding one of the most diverse and fun factions Total War has seen in a long time. The new economy mechanics are something I would love to see translated to more factions, as it makes the campaign gameplay far more engaging, something Creative Assembly has seemingly struggled with throughout the franchise. This DLC is a step in the right direction; I just wish it didn’t have to be such a costly one.
The three new Chaos Dwarf lords might look and feel the same, but their gameplay capabilities vastly differ when you reach Total War: Warhammers III’s mid-game. Although some reused mechanics, such as convoys, make the package less attractive, it’s a great addition to an already impressive roster.
