Harmony: The Fall of Reverie Reviews
Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is another captivating outing from Dotnod and a decent visual novel.
In many ways playing out as a more mature and deeper Choose Your Own Adventure take, Harmony offers great dynamic storytelling
The art direction of Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is something to be applauded for, and the animated cut scenes made me wish there was more. Although you can replay a chapter as long as you didn’t finish it, the fact that you cannot replay other scenarios upon first-time game completion is a real bummer. Some pacing issues here and there made me groan through winded parts, but most of the time, I was anticipating the next part of the story.
It’s safe to say Don’t Nod haven’t lost their ability to make an audience cry. Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is a beautifully paced, amazingly acted, gorgeous game. There is enough replayability with the multiple endings to make it a lengthy and fun experience. The stunning artwork is wonderful to behold, and the game certainly has a powerful message about large corporations and the sanctity of one’s home.
Boasting an emotional tale with an intriguing take on player choices, Harmony: The Fall of Reverie makes for a highly thoughtful experience worth its time.
Harmony shows off DONTNOD's narrative chops with unconvential storytelling, unique deicison mechanics, and stellar character designs.
A compelling, nuanced story told beautifully and with many diverging paths, Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is a stunning example of how powerful the visual novel format can be. It uses the desires, pains, and histories of its characters to paint a rich emotional landscape against the context of a changing world, with the player's decisions shaping both the intricacies and the broad strokes of this world's future. With striking art design, immersive writing, and massive variety of story possibilities, this is a must-play for narrative adventure fans.
