Final Fantasy XV is a product that perfectly combines two opposing and irreconcilable souls. On the one hand there is the desire to revive a once great saga, an RPG focuses on the value of exploration, and on the amount of secondary activities and diversions. On the other hand there is a murky "dark side", made of an ineffective and bleak narrative.Considering the number of hours spent in the Lucis kingdom, you can not help but think that this narrative hitch represents after all a small part of the overall game experience.

Some parts of this game will shine more than others for many gamers, and people will remember this game differently. This is a big adventure on the usual scale of a Final Fantasy game and we can see the great production value behind it. But the game lacked the vision to bring its best parts together to make it the great overall experience that we all wanted.

Final Fantasy XV is a breath of fresh air for the series which was starting to lose its significance after the release of Final Fantasy XIII. It is one of the best open world game on the current generation consoles and a return to the form for the franchise.

The wait was worth it. Final Fantasy XV is one of the best games in the series since the PS2 era. Its graphic quality is impeccable, character design is also terrific. The battle system, despite some camera issues, is fun and enjoyable. Thanks to Yoko Shimomura, music feels great, dramatic and fun. The game has a lot of content and very high standards when it comes to animations. FFXV may have some glitches here and there, but that does not affect the overall experience. Final Fantasy XV is a game that veteran and new fans will enjoy from beginning to end.

A new direction for the series, with an interesting and rich world, great graphics and music, and a fast paced and intense battle system, albeit one that requires a bit of getting used to. The cast might not be to everyone's taste, and, surprisingly for the series, the story is the game's weakest aspect, which might be the price of going open world, but ultimately the game succeeds in presenting most of the series' core values in a modern format while keeping its identity intact.

Final Fantasy XV has its problems, but it's filled with enough special moments that you can forgive the issues. The combat is fluid, thoughtful, and cinematic while the open world gives you a ton to do.

Final Fantasy XV wasn't a bad game, but after all that hype, and being a first time player, I was disappointed with what was offered. There's many features about the game that I can praise like the combat and dialogue, but there's those negatives that makes it a disappointing first experience. I feel this is going to be a game with very mixed opinions, and I'm sure there's many playing it early who think it's a great game, but for me personally, this was a good yet disappointing game.

Destined to be as divisive as all modern Final Fantasy games, but it's the story and characters that disappoint more than the capable combat and exploration.

Final Fantasy XV is a challenge to modern game design and traditional masculine gaming narratives, on top of being a truly phenomenal, enriching experience. Square Enix has reclaimed its throne.

Final Fantasy XV's long, troubled development cycle is evident in some of its rougher elements, but ultimately, none of that really matters. Like many of its predecessors, this Final Fantasy's best elements — great characters, fun combat and a beautiful soundtrack — make its goofier shortcomings blend in as part of the endearing charm.

While I may not think of this personally as a true Final Fantasy title, that doesn't make it any less of a good game. Despite all my above quibbles, I still haven't been able to put the controller down for any longer than it takes to visit the bathroom or refuel my needy human body. It's understandable why this was set as a side title to the franchise initially, given how much it plays with the formula, but fresh input is what is needed to keep this franchise alive. Final Fantasy XV welcomes new players with open arms, and challenges long-time fans to try something new. It's worth your time, and worth the wait.

Square Enix has not been able to claim the throne with Final Fantasy XV. This videogame has lights but also shadows, like having the name of Final Fantasy, which is a huge responsibility, and also shows why not every videogame is meant to have an open world.

Final Fantasy XV is imperfect, but the high points of this journey outweigh the messy bits. I recommend you learn to go with the flow, spend some time with your bros, and really get lost in the game.

There is no doubt Final Fantasy XV will be divisive, but in not playing it safe, the game earns a bit of my heart back with each errant monster hunt or one-off gameplay section. It's messy, but earnestly so, like that high-school mirror selfie. Recalling all the good and bad, the moments that make you cringe and a warmth that makes you smile, you know not everything was perfect. You can only say you're glad you chose to make the journey.

This isn't probably the Final Fantasy you were expecting, nevertheless is one worth your time. it is far from being a perfect game, mainly because of terrible second half, but it succeeds where other Final Fantasy have failed: bringing the saga in the modern era.

Let's get the obvious question out of the way – was Final Fantasy XV worth the wait? Honestly, from the jumbled storyline it seems the project has to have been changed, re-jigged, and re-thought so many times that I doubt whether the final product resembles the original concept fans were waiting for all this time. What the game is ultimately, is Square-Enix's response to more modern open-world RPG's and bringing Final Fantasy up to speed to play in that space.
