Remnant II Reviews
Remnant 2 marries Matryoshka level design and sublime set pieces with memorable bosses, all while polishing the combat system and build customization of its genre-bending predecessor to a spit shine.
Remnant II is a great evolution of ideas from the first installment, making each adventure feel unique in its own way. It is one of the few Soulslike games with full co-op.

A superior sequel sees Gunfire Games push the Remnant series to new heights. Those heights cause some nosebleeds, but they're worth it to experience one of the most interesting action RPG experiences I've had in recent years.
Remnant 2 delivers a well-deserved sequel that delivers on making every aspect of the original game all the better. While the story is serviceable at best, and performance issues hold it back from being truly legendary, it's an absolute must for fans of the genre.
Remnant 2 successfully evolves on its predecessor, isolating and expanding upon the best aspects to create a cohesive and challenging shooter experience, supplemented by stunningly designed environments and a unique story system. A cooperative game at heart, its single-player campaign takes a hit, but never enough to substantially detract from the game’s successes.
Remnant 2 feels like a love letter to the fans of the first, with an emphasis on replayability and brilliant new features. The different experiences that the game can generate from one person to the next are impressive, as each run feels unique. Combat feels great, and the freedom in build creation is a huge improvement over its predecessor. Still, a few issues with the game's core may leave some disappointed.
Building on everything that was great about the original - from enemy variety to boss design to the means by which one can customize their play-style - Remnant II just about scrapes by with a follow-up that befits the mantle of "bigger, better, bolder" in numerous ways.
A significant improvement on the last game and one of the best Soulslikes of recent years, with excellent use of procedural generation and so much variety it's almost impossible to see everything.
Remnant 2 is an ambitious sequel stuffed with delightful - and deadly - surprises.
Remnant II is the most improved sequel that I've played in a long time and I can't wait for the third installment to release. Until then, I'll enjoy blasting away all sorts of dastardly foes within the absurdly wondrous world that's presented here.
With Remnant 2 the developers have not yet found the perfect formula, but they have certainly made good steps forward.

Remnant 2 is a dependable looter shooter made special by its boundless capacity to surprise.
Remnant II is, without a doubt, one of the best looter-shooters today. A very well thought out, fun and challenging title whether in a solo adventure or in a shared adventure with up to two other players with content for dozens of hours. And... with three DLC planned to continue this brilliant ARPG, I don't see why it can't grow and provide more and more hours of fun. A game that I highly recommend to all fans of this genre of games!

Despite, once again, a few technical hiccups, Remnant II is definitely a success for Gunfire Games. With a ton of new content and improvements of all kinds, the game is a delight to complete alone or with friends. Remnant II is an oddity. A game that borrows from whomever it can, shamelessly, and manages to turn expectations on their head. From the varied aesthetics of the worlds to the bewitching boss battles, the game surprises time and again and is a pleasure to replay.

Remnant 2 is the perfect example of how a sequel should be developed, expanding and enhancing the original experience in every respect but without distorting it.

If you're looking for a game that can challenge you and where you can spend many hours of fun exploding animated driftwood, alien zombies, and elves with muskets while collecting tons of loot - then welcome to Remnant 2.
Remnant II is exactly what I was looking for. A straightforward soulslike shooter, that takes everything that made the predecessor work and fixed the few things that didn’t. The plot may still be a bit thin, but exploring the interesting worlds and fighting the bosses to get some great loot has been one of this year’s best experiences.
I can't get enough of Remnant 2. When I'm not playing, I'm often thinking about new upgrade paths, character builds, and play styles to explore while adventuring through Remnant 2's engaging worlds.
I cannot have enough of Remnant II's fantastic co-op gameplay, especially thanks to its intense replayability. However, I do wish there had been more emphasis on the story to have something to root for along the way!
