Of course, Tearaway isn't without its faults. The combat is shallow and gets tedious near the end of the game, the story drags in parts and could have benefited from being an hour or two shorter, but Tearaway is such a rare type that those things are easily forgiven. It joins the mediums of video game and art together, then flips them topsy turvy until you're unsure of where one begins and the other ends. And it does this with enough heart to warm even the iciest of cynics.
Tearaway Unfolded is so imaginitive that you'll feel yourself wanting to applaud it at points. An occasionally clunky camera and some narrative issues do threaten to screw up this paper-based platformer, but the quirky controls and sheer variety of the gameplay will keep a smile glued to your face. Pitch-perfect presentation and a well-executed conclusion ensure that this remixed release is in tip-top shape, while the sheer wealth of collectibles give it value long after the credits roll.
These small issues can easily be ignored when it comes to appreciating just how impressive of a project Tearaway Unfolded is. What could have been a simple cash-in HD port of the handheld title was instead lovingly (paper)crafted by the developers into a vastly improved, dedicated PS4 platformer.
One of the Vita's best releases come to the PlayStation 4 in Tearaway: Unfolded, a charming, endearing, and enjoyable adventure whose jump to the big screen will allow a far wider audience to appreciate a game that went criminally overlooked the first time around.
We didn't think it was possible, but Tearaway Unfolded has surpassed the original PS Vita version. It's story is longer, more expansive and the papercraft even more impressive. It manages to celebrate the PS4 and the DualShock 4 in its gameplay too, making the overall game package completely appealing and utterly adorable.
Mm has somehow managed to make Tearaway even more worthy of your attention than it was on PS Vita, so do yourself a favor and give this game the love that it deserves.

With some amazing stylised graphics, Tearaway Unfolded is a game that can be played by everyone and anyone that boasts a clever and interactive environment which draws the player into this fully interactive world. It's accompanied by an excellent musical score with some great sound effects to boot. So even if you have played the original game on the PS Vita, the experience on the PlayStation 4 is very different but is just as engaging in this very unique and entertaining arcade experience of 2015.

Tearaway Unfolded entpuppt sich als gelungene Portierung von einem der bisher besten Playstation Vita Titel. Die Entwickler haben wirklich den letzten Funken an Kreativität aus dem Dual Shock 4 Controller herausgeholt und damit auch Spielern der Playstation Vita Version eine kleine Motivation geliefert, die aufregende Reise mit Iota noch Mals anzugehen. Die Integration der Companion App können wir aktuell noch nicht wirklich beurteilen, aber die Hinweise im Spiel, hätte man etwas dezenter platzieren können.

While the controls can be a little awkward at times, Tearaway Unfolded is a delightful package overall. Its distinctive look is matched by equally creative gameplay that has you interacting with the world and leaving your mark in ways quite unlike anything else. If you missed it the first time, don't let it slip by again.
It might not be the hardest, longest, or most in-depth platforming game, but Tearaway is one world I can't help but want to revisit repeatedly, each time with a smile on my face.
A great platformer in its own right, Tearaway Unfolded doesn't quite capture the revelatory magic of its Vita predecessor, partly because the gameplay and scope remain limited next to sophisticated, inventive controls.
