In a year that has been excellent in terms of big releases and with numerous contenders to GOTY, The Talos Principle II stands as a more than serious option. And it does so on its own merits by proposing a totally different experience, far from frenetic action or strategy. Instead, we find a philosophical proposal, based on thought and focused on history, with a series of very well implemented and thought-out puzzles.

The Talos Principle II's expertly designed puzzles are kept interesting and engaging throughout a lengthy thirty-hour runtime by the incremental introduction of consistently intriguing mechanics. Pairing well with pragmatic problem solving is a story that delves into ancient Greek philosophy and mythology that effectively asks unimaginably important questions that can't possibly be answered. It's common to find an experience that makes you feel, and equally common to find one that makes you think, but The Talos Principle II is a rare cross-section that allows you to do both simultaneously.
If one day we were facing extinction and I had to choose something to save, I would definitely save The Talos Principle 2, because it's really worth it.

We wondered how the developer would top the phenomenal first entry in this mind-boggling series, and it’s done so by providing a veritable feast of varied and engaging puzzles, backed up with thoughtful philosophy and stunning visuals that heighten its light exploration elements. If you play just one puzzle game this year make it this one. In fact, we’d go as far to say that The Talos Principle 2 is one of the best puzzle games of all time.
The Talos Principle II does what is expected from a video game sequel, and it does it well. The puzzles remain clever, and the additional tools complement the old ones. The story is more prominent and plays out in a way that remains philosophical yet still provides some satisfaction, no matter which ending you get. It looks and runs great, and the experience never feels like it drags on. Whether you're a fan of the series or a puzzle fan in general, you owe it to yourself to a playthrough of The Talos Principle II.

Richer, more varied, more beautiful to look at and even more filled with dilemmas and philosophical concepts. The Talos Principle 2 is going to make you think, and not just in the practical, puzzle-solving sense. The game will suck you into a superbly crafted story, full of melancholy, philosophical discourse, and great characters. It will play with your emotions, putting you in a zen-like environment, roasting your mind over a slow fire, only to poke you with revolving bursts of fatalism and cautious, inquisitive optimism. It can hardly be described, you’ll have to experience it to fully appreciate it.
