Gang Beasts works surprsingly good as party game thanks to it's easy controls and intuitive gameplay. The game still got some glitches in the physics area but it still manages to overcome these minor setbacks with the fun core mechanics behind it.

The Xbox One launch means a new audience can experience the hilarious gameplay that Gang Beasts offers, but it won't do anything for players who own the game on other platforms.

Unless you categorically hate having fun, Gang Beasts’ hilarious and deceptively simple physics-based combat is an absolute blast, especially when played locally with friends and family. Sure, it could perhaps be a bit more fleshed out in terms of modes, and playing online may not result in the same level of fun as local play. However, when viewed purely as a local multiplayer party game, which you can’t help but feel is the way it was intended to be played, I can’t think of many experiences that are as capable of entertaining for an evening in the way that Gang Beasts is.

A game that offers fun mechanics, a firm gameplay, direct, well executed and quite nice. The bad part? Lack of modes, content and care, both in its presentation and in its interfaces.

It may be small, but Gang Beasts on Switch still deals out a mean headbutt.

All-in-all, Gang Beasts is a fun multiplayer romp that’s best enjoyed with a few friends after a couple of beers, but doesn’t hold up nearly as well once you try to take the party online. The derpy characters, intentionally awkward controls, and daft physics will bring plenty of laughs in a room full of pals, but become more frustrating as a solo experience. Ultimately, once you’ve played a few rounds in each mode there isn’t an awful lot of meat on the bone; Gang Beasts is an admittedly tasty morsel, it just carries the price tag of a prime cut.

Both “wacky physics” and local multiplayer games have a tendency to suffer from people having extremely positive or negative views of them, either embracing and “getting” the style of play or likely despising it...

Gang Beasts comes across more like a novelty than a fully fleshed out game but that doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't fun.

Gang Beasts has a special touch on its core mechanic, a good mix between funny physics and functional scenarios that will make you laugh like no other game if you have friends to play on local multiplayer. Unfortunately after a long early access the game still feels unfinished with technical problems and terrible servers to play online.

I really liked Gang Beasts. It might seem as if there isn't a lot going on for this one, but trust me when I say it's the perfect party game for when you have friends over! It has now become one of the essential party game I bring out when friends visit, so be sure to give this one a go!

Despite some issues Gang Beasts will be staying in my lineup of games to play with my family for some time to come.

Gang Beasts never pretends to be a single-player experience; it's a party game through and through. Even though there's only so much depth that can be found in imprecisely manipulating ragdoll physics, the end result is still oddly compelling. While Gang Beasts is not the kind of game that will find its way into the eSports circuit, players will still find a lot to love as they fight and fall and laugh at all the ways they succeed or fail in its oddball arenas.

Even if I'm less than impressed with some of the game's technical shortcomings and overbalancing, Gang Beasts still delivered some of the funniest moments I've had in gaming, and that joy will stay with me for some time.

Gang Beasts is a multiplayer 3D brawler where up to four friends can play together or against each other as silly, floppy fighters that fight like drunk toddlers. If that sounds hilarious, that's because it is.

Put every friendship you've ever had on the line with this beat 'em up classic from Boneloaf. Take on the persona of a boneless creature, put on your best animal onesie and get down to it. Fight on skyscrapers, cranes, lighthouses, you name it - you can brawl there. Bring all your friends together for the survival of the fittest, and just pray you will be the last one standing.

Gang Beasts' madcap brawling creates a dynamic alliance between conflict and chaos. It also enables human responses like surprise, merriment, revenge, and screaming. Driving a wobbly creature to comically murder another flailing mess, as it turns out, is a pleasant and repeatable practice. If only three of your friends could always come along for the ride.

I like the idea of Gang Beasts on paper. Hell, I even like Gang Beasts when I see other players play. The jelly physics of up to eight players smashing into one another and trying to toss each other over the edge is great fun in theory, but becomes more of a frustrating chore and test of patience in practice. If there was a better training ground to at least get a handle on the bizarre physics and controls, that would go a long way to making the game more accessible to newcomers. Even if they had that, Boneloaf needs to get a handle on their connection issues before Gang Beasts can really start to step into its stride and potential as a hilarious  party game.

Gang Beasts' charm has always been its janky, unpredictable, chaotic physics brawling, and you'll either be pleased or disappointed to know that it hasn't changed too much since 2014. On Switch, it runs well in Local and Online mode, although the Switch's voice chat options make the latter a less appealing choice. If you're a fan of portable party games, though, this is a classic not to be missed.

Among the pros of a hybrid form ideal for local multiplayer and the cons of a network experience with the handbrake pulled, the conversion for Switch of Gang Beasts defends itself just enough to provide the Nintendo audience with the opportunity to recover one of the craziest party brawlers of recent years.
