A movie license tie-in game that lives down to genre expectations.

Movie and licensed game tie-ins may suffer a reputation for being half-baked, quick cash grabs. There's always the concern that originality of source material would be unjustly represented; after all, Snoopy's Grand Adventure was a simultaneous release with the Peanuts movie. The movie was one that was marketed hard before its premiere, even transforming the cast of NBC's The Today Show into creepy human counterparts of the Peanuts' characters. Luckily, the Snoopy game doesn't feel like a money grubbing attempt to cash-in on the hopeful success of the movie. It's actually a decent platformer, with collectibles and costume changes which add variety to backtracking and a drive to unlock all areas with new, fun powerups. That said it certainly isn't immune from some issues such as somewhat stiff controls, which keep it from being a great game. Still, as a game for younger crowds it's a fun and welcome option to further embrace the world of Peanuts.

A cute little platformer that will impress younger gamers while it lasts, but which is unlikely to engage even older children for long.

The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure does a great job of capturing the world of Peanuts and its characters. Well-themed stages based on each character is a driving force to explore and play the game from start to finish, and is sure to bring many smiles to the faces of Peanuts fans. Besides nostalgia, there is sadly not much else to get in The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure, though. Between backtracking and stages that hardly stand a second playthrough, it ends up being just another decent platformer. It is by no means a bad title, just underwhelming. More actual challenge would be a plus to the title, if only for the hunt for the collectibles, as, currently, nothing in the game is even remotely dangerous or challenging to bypass, which adds to the overall low replay value of the stages. For Peanuts fans, young and old, a charming reunion with the characters is to be had, but everyone else might not find many redeemable qualities to get this over other platformers on the market.

While Snoopy's Grand Adventure doesn't go the extra mile in its design, it still comes across as an enjoyable diversion for younger players looking to get some Peanuts-oriented fun out of their console. The inclusion of co-op is pretty nice as well, if parents should want to get involved in their children's adventure. But it seems like more could've been done for older gamers, and some of the technical setbacks should have gone through some clean-up. Overall, though, not bad for a little diversion.

Snoopy's Grand Adventure is a great game for parents to check out with their kids. The price tag is a bit on the high side, and the performance is mind-boggling, but the design is perfect for kids age 4-7. My boy had a great time, and even related to Snoopy and Woodstock without having prior knowledge of them. I definitely recommend checking it out if you are looking for something to enjoy with younger kids. Hardcore platform fans will find little challenge here.

The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure is a movie tie-in done right. It pays respect to the source material, has solid fundamentals, and is an enjoyable platformer while it lasts. It isn't the longest experience, but there is plenty of fun for Peanuts fans to have.

While the gameplay and levels themselves can be fun and enjoyable, the incredibly short length makes The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure a game that feels like it should been a downloadable budget title rather than a near full priced release.

I think it is safe to say that Snoopy has avoided the movie-tie-in curse. What we have here is a game that is solid in its design ideas and has implemented them effectively. Yes there are some slowdown issues, but considering who the game is marketed towards, I don't think they'll be taking too much notice of that. It's an enjoyable game, filled to the brim with fun and imagination.

While Snoopy's Grand Adventure welcomed me to a promising experience, the overall package did not deliver due to offering little sense of challenge or purpose.

Sure, it's not as long as one may hope for as it's over sooner than later, but it stays pretty true to its source material, which is refreshing.
