Games as good as Enter the Gungeon don't come along very often. There's so much to discover here that you'll be playing this game for a long time. And you'll still come back even after you see everything. Gungeon is the pinnacle of rogue-like design.

With it’s mix of fast-paced action gameplay and challenging, yet very satisfying combat, Enter the Gungeon is a great game, although the randomness of the formula can be at times very frustrating for the player.

Enter the Gungeon is a solid action-packed release on Nintendo Switch that you should definitely add to your collection. Every run that you do will feel a bit different, and the more you play the more enemies you'll run into, learning about their movement and attack patterns so that you can make the most of subsequent runs – same goes for the weapons and items you can find or purchase.

One third bullet hell, one third shoot 'em up, and one third roguelike, Enter the Gungeon is a magnificent blend of three genres that go together impressively well. The wide variety of guns keeps each playthrough feeling fresh, regardless of the character chosen, and the diverse enemy design is sure to keep players on their toes as they force their way through the Gungeon. There are some issues that rise from the randomness of it all, par for the course for a roguelike, but the fluid gameplay, massive weapon cache, and bullet-heavy atmosphere make Enter the Gungeon one incredibly endearing experience.

Enter the Gungeon is a magnificent accomplishment in being able to merge an assortment of different things and excels in creating its own distinct package. If you’re a fan of either roguelikes, bullet hells, twin stick shooters or none of them like myself, you owe it to yourself to play this game. Due to how many guns, enemies and abilities to encounter, there are countless hours of gameplay and I look forward to jumping into the Gungeon every now and them for years to come.

The game looks great with its fantastic pixel art and also has a soundtrack that makes the game sound just as cool as it looks. If you are into puns and twin-stick shooters then Enter the Gungeon is probably for you. The game also features a co-op mode so if you aren’t into getting beat on alone you can bring a friend along for the bullet storm ride.

The dungeon-craw- excuse me, "gungeon-crawling" mixed with twin-stick shooting has proven in the past to be a solid gameplay setup, and here mixed in with the smooth dodge-roll mechanic plus the great amount of customizable guns makes every run-through fun and exciting.

As a whole Enter the Gungeon is every bit a best-in-class roguelike shooter on the Switch. Not only is the core gameplay wonderfully intense yet tightly controlled but touches like a well-implemented teleportation system in the map prevent your adrenaline levels to have a chance to subside. The bosses all have their own feel and most have quite a personality to go with their toughness. All things considered if you’re a roguelike shooter fan in the least you would be doing yourself a great disservice not giving Gungeon a spin.
