Delivering an experience that is fun and whose greatest asset lies on the mutiplayer component, both local and online and up to four players, Castle Crashers Remastered is less compelling when it becomes too repetitive and its difficulty turns too artificial but nevertheless, it is a fun experience to enjoy and a good beat'em-up.

The Behemoth has brought back its most successful game, but it sounds more like a modernization than a complete and improved version. Castle Crashers Remastered brings almost no new content beyond technical improvements, but it should please old players just for the nostalgia factor. However, those who could not enjoy the title years ago have the possibility to do so with the best version available.

Castle Crashers Remastered takes an already great game and makes it even better by improving its performance and adding a new mini-game.

Whether playing for the first time or picking it up for old time's sake, Castle Crashers is still capable of providing simple, senseless fun.

As far as beat ‘em up brawlers go on the Switch, Castle Crashers Remastered is one of the finest titles available for the platform.

After all these years, finally having the chance to play and finish Castle Crashers has left me with a feeling of satisfaction. This truly stands out as a video game classic and is a ton of fun whether you’re alone or with a group of friends. The combat system is very satisfying and there’s so much content wrapped up in this package. Unfortunately, there are some flaws that hold the game back from living up to its countless praise. Inconsistent difficulty spikes, visual glitches, and unbalanced projectiles hurt Castle Crashers gameplay. As a first-time player, I feel like Castle Crashers is a great game, but it’s not for everyone. You have to put up with some issues, but if you’re able to then this title is worth your time. Either way I’m happy to have this available on Nintendo Switch.

I can't recommend it as a solo experience, meaning its appeal on a hybrid console like the Switch may be a little limited. I can however highly recommend it for sitting down and having a good time with a group of friends. If you've got other game consoles then you can probably already play this game at its best, but it's always a good time to jump in and have fun crashing through some castles.

Overall, Castle Crashers is a colorful, creative beat 'em up with a lot of charm, and it feels right at home on Switch.

Castle Crashers Remastered is a phenomenal title that offers players hours and hours of wacky fun. The Nintendo Switch version is the definitive way to play this game with the ability to play whenever wherever. With its wacky boss fights, fantastic combat, and plenty of humorous moments, Castle Crashers Remastered still stands tall as one of the best Beat 'Em Ups ever made.

If you somehow still haven't played Castle Crashers, now is the perfect time to do so. If you already have the game on another platform, it may not be worth the upgrade, because the game has been changed so little that you won't be missing anything new.

Castle Crashers Remastered is an outstanding brawler that has some addictive progression hooks built in, creative levels and enemies and is best experienced with a group of friends where you can laugh and rib one another through the experience. This is more of a touching up and re-release than a full remaster, but everything has been smoothed out with all of the DLC and a new mode included. Nearly seven years later, the Castle Crashers formula still holds up very well.

Perhaps the constant stream of remakes has jaded me, but 'Castle Crashers' didn't seem to be screaming for an update, especially with backwards compatibility right around the corner. The new mode is wishy washy and the jury is still out on the matchmaking. Still, the $5 price for previous owners of the game, there are far worse old-timey arcade brawlers out there than 'Caste Crashers Remastered'.

Castle Crashers Remastered is basically the same game as before, but the various improvements make it an adventure worth playing through all over again.

Castle Crashers Remastered is a real hoot speaking as someone who missed out seven years ago. It's bright, funny button-masher that's deep enough if you want more, and it has an Arena Mode, the Back Off Barbarian minigame, and an "Insane Mode" for good measure.

Castle Crashers Remastered keeps the game relevant to Xbox again and comfortably keeps a void in the systems library filled.

I maintain that Castle Crashers is a good game. Great, even, if you're playing cooperatively. But seven years later, I'm not nearly as smitten. I just can't endlessly grind battles like I used to.

Castle Crashers Remastered is every bit was wonderful as it was the first time around. Bright, cheerful, packed with things to do, and rocking some classic brawler action, it looks as beautiful as ever and there's no excuse not to give it a look. It's just as fresh as it was back in the day, and a 100% discount for prior players is friggin' perfect.
