Tales from the Borderlands's visuals have aged poorly and the animation quality won't impress anyone, but the centre of the experience is the characters and story. Coming into this and expecting a traditional Borderlands experience will only lead to disappointment. This is enjoyable for people who have never played any Borderlands title, or for fans of the setting who want to see the universe get further fleshed out. The sense of humour is still intact, for better and for worse: it can be a bit exhausting for every character to be a snarky and sarcastic rogue, but at least they do have heart where it counts.

Tales from the Borderlands is a classic TellTale Games title set within the world of the titular looter shooter trilogy. Of course, I knew about this series, and had dabbled for a few minutes in one of the titles when they came to PlayStation Plus some time ago. However, I had never truly played one of them. Yet, I was instantly drawn to this title when it became available. The graphics, the style of the game and its episodic nature spoke to me.

Successful comedy, real thrills and a few sparks of desire for something deeper in some places, make Tales from the Borderlands one of the top games created by Telltale

Tales From The Borderlands is a surprisingly enjoyable experience with charming characters that draw you in from the start. The Telltale writing team do a great job of making the humour less puerile than other Borderlands games; despite one or two forced moments of ‘Gearbox writing’ raising its ugly head. The overall aesthetic remains quaint and distinctly unique to Telltale. The visuals paired with the constant “humour” are perfect for any longtime Borderlands fans, while also bringing Telltale fans into the fold. It is a decent game with good intentions; and while not amazing at any rate, a sequel would not go unwarranted.

Tales from the Borderlands is just as good as you remember it. The characters feel real and human, while the plot is compelling and worth seeing through to the end. This port could have used a few upgrades or even just kept the choice summaries, but at the end of the day it's a game I'll replay for years to come.

Tales from the Borderlands is a game that shows all the years that have passed since its first publication, yet the particular hybrid between a point and click and a looter shooter still retains an undeniable charm.

Tales from the Borderlands is arguably Telltale Games' finest hour and easily one of the very best choice-driven narrative adventures available on any system. This is ten glorious hours' worth of top-notch entertainment with a world-class cast, consistently excellent writing that manages to perfectly balance comedy and drama, non-stop twisted action and a cast of kooky characters that are a joy to spend time with. This really is the best the Borderlands universe has ever been, and a game that everyone should experience at least once.

Luckily for Tales from the Borderlands, its minor annoyances aren't nearly enough to mar the incredibly rewarding narrative experience. While still humorous, the writing is much more nuanced than that of the mainline Borderlands games, offering an impressive amount of character development. The whole cast interacts in ways unmatched by the rest of the series, and achieves some of the most impactful narrative beats in the whole franchise, all while having player choices impact future events.

The 10 hours or so it takes to beat this game will, you will be taken on one of the most enjoyable stories in the Borderlands universe. With plenty of humor and mystery as fuel, you will have no trouble burning through this game and loving every minute. With a cast of fun and interesting characters, your adventure through the barren wasteland of Pandora will be one to remember.

Tales from the Borderlands is one of the most interesting games from Telltale Games. It's comedic, has a bunch of cool characters and the soundtrack is simply wonderful. If you're into Borderlands and looking for a deeper story, Tales from the Borderlands will fulfill your dreams.

Without spoiling too much sufficed to say her one last big score involves Rhys from Hyperion and the vault key, as the story takes a turn for the worst and hilarity ensues. The story gets told from both Fiona and Rhys perspective as you get a chance to play with both of them during the course of the first episode. The entire story plays off like a Hollywood crime caper, sometimes a bit predictable but always thoroughly enjoyable. There were two or three plot twists I definitely did not see coming left of center field that really surprised me. Overall it is a solid first episode and entry into the Borderlands franchise if you are a fan of the series I can highly recommend it, as the first episode laid a nice solid foundation for the rest of the series. And even if you are not a fan of Borderlands it is still a highly enjoyable Telltale game.

With a terrific cast of characters, a compelling storyline and some genuinely laugh out loud moments, Tales from the Borderlands easily maintains Telltale Games' upward trajectory. The few minor audio and graphical glitches are easily forgiven due to the strength of the gameplay experience and the pace rarely slows down, although the fourth episode did seem a tad meandering.

His mix of humor and great characters perfectly complement the universe created by Gearbox. The best of Telltale since the first season of The Walking Dead

An inconsistent but highly enjoyable season of sharp comedy and surprisingly affecting drama, that has plenty to teach more serious dramas.
