Actively making the zone worse by radically changing how Zora Link functioned seems like a huge step back in comparison with the rest of the small positive changes that the game made.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is just as dark, fascinating, and satisfying a game on the 3DS as it was on the Nintendo 64.

The game suggests identity and heroism arise from communal ties as much as they do from individual traits and struggle.

And with a number of smart improvements that make its frustrations easier to bear, the 3DS version is by far the best way to experience it.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D is just as much an oddity as it was fourteen years ago. While some aspects of it haven't aged well, Nintendo has made enough smart changes to make this remaster worth a second look for those like me who left the original undone. It's nicely presented, shows some real growth of the seeds planted in Ocarina, and is easily among the most unique games in the franchise.

Nintendo didn't go above and beyond the call of duty with The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, but the improvements do in fact make it a more playable experience. Many of the frustrating elements from the original are gone, and because of the nature of the three-day cycle, it's a perfect thing to pick up, play, and turn off after one cycle completes. Majora still isn't my favorite Zelda, but I'm much more inclined to go back to it on the 3DS.

Majora's Mask was and still is a fresh departure from the Zelda norm. Majora's Mask 3D improves greatly on a few of the original's deficiencies, though some of the bold choices inherent to the game still have a negative effect on the experience. That said, the tenuous balance that is struck, coupled with an ever-unfolding mystery makes the game a must-play and the 3DS version the definitive one.

In short, Majora’s Mask 3D is a wonderful and faithful remake of the N64 classic. While it takes a misstep or two, even if those missteps were made in the name of making the gameplay a little more user friendly, you definitely shouldn’t skip this title because of them. I highly recommend this remake for anyone who may have missed the original, or who were simply too young to have played it. And for those who were around to play the original, I encourage you to revisit this gem in its newfound 3D glory and stick it to Skull Kid in his big dumb moons face. “Yeah that’s right moon, I’m talking to you. You don’t scare me…much”

Majora's Mask 3D is a game worth experiencing, even just for its bizarre and unsettling themes. However, while enjoyable, it's not among the best the Zelda series has to offer.

A great adaptation for an unjustly forgotten classic. The perfect opportunity to play it if you missed it at the time.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D proves that interesting game design and strong world-building never get old. Even 15 years later, it still delivers charming characters, tense resource management, and a world rife with personality. Despite some cumbersome menus and a single drag of a dungeon, Majora's Mask is a great adventure that (repeatedly) stands the test of time.

The title represents a good opportunity for veterans to rediscover this classic, while purists who don't know it yet may want to enjoy the original experience first. More than a reissue, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D is an interpretation, an interesting revision that no player should miss. Even with a polygon mask and slight adjustments, looking underneath it reveals an unlikely adventure, a brooding glee that is unmistakably a reflection of another era of game design. Visiting Termina means leaving the epic plains of Ocarina of Time to descend into unique introspection. Welcome to the carnival.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D is the great remake that everyone was waiting for, the revenge of a "misreconsive" chapter that for fifteen years has been waiting for a new opportunity to prove its worth. A title often bilayered but equally powerful, fun and challenging.

For 3DS owners and people who missed "Majora's Mask" 15 years ago, this is the perfect time to experience one of the most underrated games in the series. The game seems to force itself to take advantage of the 3DS hardware, and not every part of the game is enjoyable, but that's par for the course when it comes to the "Zelda" franchise. The layered narrative is worth your time and money. It's a shining example of why "Zelda" is such an artistic representation of the medium of video games.

Majora's Mask is a testament to the idea that fantastic game design never ages. It's engrossing while pushy, unique while also familiar and filled with contrasting charm and dread. If you have a 3DS it's a must-have – and a good reason to pick one up in the first place.

‎The story stands out from all the other ‎‎Zelda stories,‎‎the dungeons are old-fashioned high quality, and the masks give the game a new load of depth that we don't find anywhere else. If you're looking for another title for your handheld, let it be this one.‎

Being able to talk to, and discuss an old school game to the younger generation, and have that be something that’s new for them, is simply awesome. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (3D), may not be the typical, nor standard franchise story we see, but will always stand the test of time, and be memorable for being the most unique title, of it’s series.
