The biggest issue with Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- is that it is so similar to -SIGN-. We have some new characters and a new narrative, which is always a great thing. However, the core engine and gameplay are almost identical. This makes this latest game in the series feel more akin to an iterative upgrade than a true sequel. As a full priced game, that could prove a difficult pill to swallow for those who already own -SIGN-. As a result, your mileage may vary. That being said, on its own merits, Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- is a fantastic game and one of the best fighters I have ever played and absolutely worth a look if you get the chance.

When all is said and done, Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- is a great addition to Steam's stable of fighting games.

I think the PC version of Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator is great and Revelator is still the definitive version of Xrd. However a few issues like the online mode not being to snuff and the lack of any noticeable improvements over the PS4 version make it hard to recommend at it's current price of $49.99 or $45 if you own Xrd on Steam.

Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator is the best fighter of 2016, and with Injustice 2 being released not even in the next six months, I'm pretty certain it will keep that title. It's attention to detail is refreshing, it's models inventive, and it's gameplay hooking and enormous in depth. It's hard to think that fighters can get any better than this, but Guilty Gear continuously sets the bar.

Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator may not be a huge step up from Sign but it does enough to make it a must-own 2D fighter.

As a fighting game fan, having new systems to learn has been great fun and the design of the characters and the world is instantly enjoyable if you like Japanese fighting games and/or anime. With the detailed tutorial and introduction of the Stylish control mode, it's far more approachable for new players, but the complexity of the story and how little it does to help people jump on quickly may rub people the wrong way.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- is one of these pieces of software that, although its level of quality is worthy of applause, as a product alone, is almost "offensive" towards consumers. To summarise, this is a great fighter… but approach only if you haven't spent any money on the previous instalment, since it's almost the same deal… Not to mention that half of its newly added roster is hidden behind a pretty high price tag.

In many ways, Revelator can be seen as the definitive version of Guilty Gear Xrd. Packing in more characters, more stages, more modes, and more unlockables, this is what -SIGN- should have originally been. Though it is a shame that this is a standalone release rather than a downloadable upgrade, the sheer amount of content available more than makes up for it.

Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator is a fantastic fighting package offering lots to love for both series fans and newcomers alike. This is a flashy, modern fighter which boasts both gameplay depth and an anachronistic punk aesthetic.

With an excellent roster and polished mechanics, this is a straight improvement over the last instalment of Guilty Gear. The problems with the series are problems common to the genre, and although they can't be ignored, they are lessened by the introduction of beginner-friendly mechanics and a cast that's easy to love. Full of gorgeous visuals and absolutely gushing style, all while retaining incredibly tight controls and mechanics, this latest entry is definitely one worth looking into, whether a genre vet or someone completely new to fighting games.

This is the best Guilty Gear title in the series, hands down. If you're new to the franchise, this is the perfect game to start from. If you're a longtime fan, this should be a no-brainer.

An excellent fighting engine, superb visuals, incredible teaching tools, and ridiculous design chops make Guilty Gear -REVELATOR- one of the best fighting games around. Those who are happy with -SIGN- may balk at the price, but everyone else, from fans to newcomers, should be more than happy with what's on offer. If you're ready to rock, Guilty Gear is happy to oblige.

Rounding it all out, Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- adds enough new content to appeal to both hardcore and casual fighting game fans alike. Although the game isn't as much an evolution of the franchise as Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- was at its release, it's still more than easy enough to recommend.
