Not particularly difficult, and its mobile roots are showing, but Hitman GO: Definitive Edition is an entertaining puzzle spin-off.

A well-designed and enjoyable puzzler. However, control issues, repetitive music and a lack of tactical freedom mean it's unlikely you'd choose to play this over real Hitman on your console.

A surprisingly successful mobile spin-off becomes an equally enjoyable console download, that twists the key elements of Hitman to its own interesting effect.

Too much trial-and-error plagues the puzzles, which also don't have enough strategy or interesting choices

Hitman GO is a highly original brainteaser that I'd definitely recommend to those who enjoy giving their grey matter a challenging gaming workout.

For a simple experience, with multiple objectives per stage that can't be all completed at once (with a handful of exceptions), so it's good as a short-term distraction. Hitman GO is designed to be a temporary go-to for those times you're stuck in minor delays, like a doctor's appointment when you've arrived early, not the DMV or anything crazy. It'll do the trick, but aside from the lovely visual style, it's a largely forgettable experience. Not a bad one, but "oh yeah, I remember playing this" nostalgia after you've worked through the levels in the few hours it takes to shoot through.

Despite having enjoyed the original game on iPad, for some reason I didn't keep it installed for long. In a weird kind of way, this console adaptation feels just as definitive as its title purports to be without really changing anything. Reflecting on this strange trail of thought, I suspect it has much to do with the presence of an actual game controller and time pressures often associated with playing games on mobile devices. Either way, Hitman GO: Definitive Edition is well worth the plunge, even at its current asking price. Although the cost has been inflated, you'd be hard-pressed to find a puzzle game of this calibre on PSN or Steam for just over a fiver.

A good mix of puzzle and turn-based strategy also recommended to those unfamiliar with the Agent 47. And as they say in these cases: so cheap, so satisfying.

Hitman GO is just as good on PlayStation as it was on iOS and Android, and the updated visuals and amount of content at a great price that the Definitive Edition offers will keep you coming back for more and more.

Hitman GO easily met my expectations and is perfect to while away a few minutes here and there.

With the addition of so much additional content, and all of the previous DLC packed in, there is no doubt that this version of Hitman: GO truly is the Definitive Edition. Coupled with a sweet-spot pricing of just $7.99 for two platforms, if you've not taken the leap already, and enjoy head-scratching puzzles, this is a must have.

A wildly unusual but nevertheless highly accomplished distillation of the Hitman formula into a turn-based puzzler, Hitman GO's mobile origins do little to dull the allure of what is a confident reinvention of its parent franchise.

Cleverly designed and rather lovely to look at, though a little slight, and not something that'll keep you occupied for long stints.

Hitman GO is a unique spin to a franchise and feels like the perfect combination of puzzle and strategy game, especially in quick bursts. I can only handle so much in one sitting, but every time I do play, I find myself sucked in just a little bit more.

Strip out all of the blood and gore from the Hitman franchise and what is left is truly a thinking man's game. The developers certainly understand what the true charm of the series is and it is highlighted in this puzzle-take on the franchise.

Blockbuster brands like Hitman seldom make the transition to mobile successfully, but Hitman Go: Definitive Edition is a well-presented puzzler that we can get behind. Despite being respectful of the source material, its slide puzzle spin on the series is strongly executed – even if it can feel a teensy bit too rigid at times. This port's perhaps a little pricey, but with plenty of content and cross-buy on the cards, we'd recommend moving in and pulling the trigger if you've got the appetite for a little assassination.

While the new Hitman should get greater attention (deservedly so), GO! isn't a bad option for people looking for something more on the strategic side. What it lacks in bloodshed and insightful killing, it makes up for with strong level design and creative challenges to overcome. It's certainly something you could, ahem, kill time with.

Hitman GO: Definitive Edition takes the critically acclaimed mobile game and all its DLC, then slaps it on PS4. If you've already got the game in to-go form, there's really no reason to opt into its release on consoles; this version is just as fun and cerebral as the mobile experience, but it's held back a bit by its lack of portability. That's not to say anything is necessarily lost, but it's definitely a pick-up-and-play experience that's better enjoyed on the move — "GO" is in the title for a reason. On the other hand, if you haven't gotten around to this quirky and minimalist little spinoff, PS4's a fine place to take a crack at its ingenious little puzzles. There's a Vita version as well, though, and if you're an owner of Sony's portable and regularly bring it with you, that might be the best way to enjoy the temporary zen of Square Enix's little puzzler.

Hitman GO has made a fantastic transition to consoles. With the added ability to earn trophies and having all of the DLC in one package, there is no doubt that the definitive edition is appropriately named.

It's tough, addictive, and offers a lot of content for the cost of admission. While not a traditional Hitman game, it's a smart entry into the franchise that I would encourage Vita owners especially to strongly consider.
