When it comes to replay value it's all over the place. You've got all 9 girls to take on vacation as much or as little as you want, tons of stuff to buy, relationships to build, and preferences to learn. I mentioned before that the relaxed feel of goofing off on the island was like popping a pill, well as you know pills can be addicting.

Judged on the merits of its quality and content alone, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is a bad game.

What Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 boils down to is a mixed set of feelings, but one of mostly dissatisfaction. It is undeniably sexy eye candy, with a decent volleyball game thrown in, but it is essentially a collection of basic mini-games, of which many modes and characters have been removed or replaced, and quickly becomes a grind-heavy chore of replaying vacations and poker in order to unlock absolutely everything… at which point it seems mostly pointless. This is the type of game that warrants being supported, but it is extremely difficult to do so when it is so sorely lacking in features and suffers from cut content. The potential is there to turn this into a far more engaging and all around better series, but, sadly, Team Ninja squandered this chance. There is brief fun to be had in paradise, but the holiday may end up being cut short. Consider it, but make sure you know exactly what to expect before splashing out.

As it stands, unless you’re a die-hard fan of the Dead or Alive Xtreme series, I suggest skipping this entirely unless it happens to be on sale. Until then, play something like Senran Kagura: Estival Versus instead.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 isn't for everyone, but that doesn't make it a bad game. For folks looking for a titillating game of house, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will deliver, though it might not be worth it in the long run.

There’s fun to be had on New Zack Island, although we wish it drilled down on two or three things rather than the assortment of slighter activities it offers. Ultimately, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet is a minigame compilation that you play repeatedly to earn money to buy costumes for busty supermodels.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is far from perfect, and I don’t see it bringing home any Game of the Year titles, but in today’s gaming landscape it’s certainly fairly unique. If that kind of uniqueness is what you enjoy, then you’ll most probably feel right at home on Zack’s new island. I certainly did, and plan to continue doing so for quite a while. Since the game won’t be available on the western market, the review copy used for this article was kindly provided by PlayAsia.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet is an upgraded version of Fortune that adds two new "fighters" to the roster. And that's all. The game always needs a lot of grinding to get everything, and is still pretty boring.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 brings you fewer features, girls, minigames and an altogether lesser experience. What it does have, however, are exceptional visuals and design on the nine girls. Let's face it though, that's what you go for when you buy a Dead or Alive Xtreme game, or any Dead or Alive game now. Does that make Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune worth it? No.

This game knows what it wants to do, and it executes it flawlessly. The loss of characters and some of the more enjoyable mini-games is certainly a bummer, but let’s be honest, that is never why anyone played this game.

The whole package feels extremely light on content, and even a bit rushed. With reused assets, features missing that were in previous titles, added microtransactions, a lack of characters, and lots of grinding, it is hard to recommend this to even the most titty-starved gamer. You'd be better served watching videos of the spicier scenes online or just going to any number of free porn sites, thus saving yourself the time, money, and brain cells that would otherwise be spent on this.
