At least Resi can’t get any worse than this

This is one of the few times where a re-master would have sufficed in place of a new title.

Umbrella Corps has no clue what it wants to be, and that translates into a frustrating, confounding experience. Tiny maps, wildly unbalanced gameplay and a general lack of polish and focus makes this one Resident Evil entry that you’re better off avoiding.

Just, unenjoyable. A side project that should never have been attempted.

Umbrella Corp is a game that should have been scrapped, not released. It may have started with the best intentions, but the end result is a game that relies on tired gameplay and a familiar name. Going back to the drawing board would have been better than what was released now.

If you could find a match consistently you’d experience the mediocre gunplay. Unfortunately, you’ll be staring at a matchmaking screen more than playing the game

Released at a time when the genre is seeing heavy hitters such as Overwatch come to market, Umbrella Corps is a competitive shooter that’s as much a victim of bad timing as it is lack of polish. The idea behind its concept is interesting, especially for folks such as myself who were hoping for an improved version of Operation Raccoon City. With schizophrenic gameplay that falls behind others in the genre and no campaign to fall back on, however, Umbrella Corps is an even bigger missed opportunity than ORC was.

Umbrella Corps is an interesting aberration of a game, coming almost entirely out of left field from a studio not known for games of this genre and bearing equal parts ambition and clumsiness.

Umbrella Corps it’s neither fun nor fully functional to justify its existence.

Umbrella Corps is an excellent example of how to not make a game. The lack of interesting content, uninteresting gameplay, no motivation to play the game more than one or two times and a big shame for the Resident Evil franchise. Yes, it had its low moments before, but Umbrella Corps is definitely the lowest. Keep your distance.

Umbrella Corps is unfortunately yet another failed attempt for the Resident Evil franchise to branch out.

Umbrella Corps is the most expensive free-to-play that you will find in the market. Not only its gameplay is terrible, but also its online mode does not have anybody to play with, so the game is almost dead by now. Capcom made us cry.

Any potential for excitement is squandered by the fact that the zombies you encounter are typically unthreatening.

Umbrella Corps is a major let-down and somehow becomes a worse game then Operation Racoon City. This is a disappointing and cheap cash-in on the beloved franchise.

How bad does a game have to be to lose “Resident Evil” from the title?

A boring excuse for a single player mode combined with a series of non-complimentary game mechanics have turned Umbrella Corps into its own version of a confused, shambling husk.

What we have is fast and fun, but limited. If the core elements here don’t keep players entertained, there isn’t much to bring them back later aside from some free DLC levels coming in the near future. There is the sense that this was a quick and dirty project, created for who knows what reason, but here it is, and it’s only recommended for players extremely curious.

As it stands, Umbrella Corps is a hard sell even at $29.99. The content just seems void of enjoyment and entertainment because of the broken feel of the overall gameplay design. I will give Capcom and its developers props for trying something different in the RE series. The idea seems to be built on good intentions.

The makings for a fun game are there, it just needs a lot more work before it gets there.
