In the words of Tegan and Sara, “Everything is Awesome”. This might be the case for the music catalog in Loud on Planet X, but it becomes pretty noticeable that the gameplay is on a far different tune. If you’re a casual indie music fan, I’d say wait for a major sale, but any junkies should definitely dive right in. (Just be wary of the flaws) You might find a new favorite song, just like I did. (PS4) LOUD on Planet X’s PC port is one of the stronger precedents I’ve seen this year of console games improving in a more hardcore setting. The game now manages to feel complex without leading to clumsiness, and it’s a great feeling. With a new sale, it would be hard not to pick this up. (PC)

Loud on Planet X has shown the industry that you don't need large plastic peripherals, in order to have fun within the digital confines of a rhythm based title.

With a price tag of $6.99, the music alone is worth the purchase. I highly recommend Loud on Planet X to lovers of indie music, but those that aren’t as interested in the scene won’t find too much to holler about besides listening to something fresh and exciting.

As an independently produced rhythm game, LOUD on Planet X, succeeds at everything it sets out to do. It is an interesting perspective to approach the genre that is complimented by a very strong soundtrack.

Loud on Planet X is perhaps the video game version of a music festival. It takes big name acts and up and coming talents and puts them on stage, accompanying their music with a solid rhythm game which doesn’t distract from the listening experience

Loud On Planet X is a fun and different rhythm game with a great roster of indie artists. It's well worth the small asking price!

Loud on Planet X has some great bands and an interesting gameplay style, but the power-ups fall flat and the game becomes stale after a bit.

If there was a bit more polish to it when it came to challenge and variety in certain areas, LOUD on Planet X could be a potential rhythm game classic.

LOUD on Planet X is an interesting combination of great indie music and rhythm-based stage defence gameplay. If you're into this type of experience, then it's well worth picking up.

Coming from the mind of a Sound Shapes developer, you can really see the influences in LOUD on Planet X; the quirky, minimalist style, the simplicity of its gameplay, and the excellent soundtrack all echo its spiritual predecessor. Yet Pop Sandbox's console debut does plenty to distance itself from its competitors, and its blend of beats and battles makes it a must for any rhythm game fan and a good place to start for those who aren't. Simply put, this'll strike a chord with anyone.

Music games largely live and die by their soundtracks and one of LOUD’s biggest strengths is its setlist.

LOUD on Planet X truly is the indie kid’s rhythm game. While the way it decides the beat of each song can be frustrating at the start, the incredible music catalog aims to keep you coming back.

LOUD On Planet X is a good rhythm game with a great track listing, but some of the issues within do need fixing. While the beat and button presses do match up in the majority of songs there are some where it all feels out of sync and disjointed. If they’re out of sync then the whole point of the rhythm game is defeated. A longer tutorial to explain parts of the game would also be beneficial too, instead of having tips appear on loading screens. The game won’t reach Guitar Hero levels of success, but if you’re looking for a quick rhythm game fix then LOUD On Planet X may be for you.
