The game's propensity for indulging counterintuitive elements feels like a willful act of self-sabotage.

Lawbreakers has a decent foundation with high-action gameplay, but many fundamental things go amiss, and many decisions sacrifice its universality.

Lawbreakers is a fast, fun and flashy shooter, yet, unfortunately, it suffers from obsolete ideas! To be honest, Lawbreakers has nothing new to offer comparing to its rivals and this has caused the last work of Cliff Bleszinski to attract a small number of players.

LawBreakers is far from being a bad multiplayer FPS. It's a fun game with some good ideas, that can entertain you a lot. But there's nothing in it that feels really surprising or more appealling to players that already have plenty of choices in the genre.

Despite my many grievances, once I actually learned how to play the game, I did have fun. However, getting to that level of competence was certainly not helped by the game in any way, shape or form and as it becomes more and more difficult to find matches online as the weeks go by, I can't help but wonder if it's even worth it to take a risk boarding what may very well be a sinking ship.

LawBreakers is highly competitive and that's what makes it fun and unique. However, it wards off casual players who are interested to play it. While Overwatch's vibrant colors give that casual feel, LawBreakers is a gloomy and a serious game that appeals to hardcore and competitive players. If Boss Key fixes the overall performance of the game and add more interesting game modes (not another Uplink/Overcharge) then probably I'll play LawBreakers a few more years before I decide to move on.

Lawbreakers is Cliff Bleszinski's new hardcore competitive shooter that doesn't do enough to stand out from the competition and has a steep learning curve.

A handful of the ideas in LawBreakers seem like concepts that are past their sell-by date, from the dubstep soundtrack to the cyber soldier aesthetic. That's a genuine shame because beneath all that, is a mechanically exciting game. The aerial combat feels fresh, and the twists on standard shooter game modes are solid attempts at flipping the script. But LawBreakers' confusing hero design, poor tutorial system and unbalanced maps all sabotage an otherwise good game.

LawBreakers is good. But it doesn’t feel polished to the level that frequent online shooter players have come to expect. It’s character design philosophy is often at odds with the design of its levels and game modes, and while that doesn’t completely bite away at the fun, it does do damage to what is otherwise a technically well-conceived package.

Boss Key's brand of role-shooter is an enjoyable rush while it lasts, but LawBreakers may not have enough beneath the surface to last the distance.

his game took me back in time to great games of the past, like Unreal Tournament and Quake Arena. This has a very old-school feel to it when you play and I loved this side of the game. Just like in days of old, I’m getting fragged left right and centre, but the strange thing with this game is…….. it doesn’t make me feel like raging.

Despite the small stumbles along the way, Cliffy B has delivered a fun – if limited – experience with LawBreakers.

LawBreakers attempts to reconcile the hero shooter genre with the arena shooter genre and somewhat succeeds. However, for as fun as it can be, it needs more than nifty movement and fast action for the long run.

LawBreakers doesn't necessarily offer anything new or groundbreaking, the weapon and character skins that you can unlock as you level up aren't exactly very enticing either, and at this point, it's difficult to say whether the game will be able to keep its player base engaged in the long run. However, if you're simply looking for something new, LawBreakers is a solid enough arena first-person shooter game to get into.

LawBreakers is a tight, comprehensive shooter experience that stakes its claim in the crowded class-based shooter genre with a fun anti-gravity gimmick, but occasionally frustrating gameplay and poor controls hold it back at times.

The new game of the Gears of War's creator is an interesting experience, but I think that its lack of personality, is going to cause that in a little period of time, nobody would remember it.

Beneath a brash exterior of dated 'attitude' and unwelcoming presentation lies a finely tuned jet engine of a shooter, that has the technical chops to distinguish itself in a crowded and fickle genre.

While Boss Key doesn't quite have an instant classic on its hands, there are enough cool ideas like anti-gravity combat in place that there's a sense of a foundation for something truly great.

LawBreakers is a fast, fierce, fun shooter. It's just a shame that I'm not very good at it! That's not a problem, though, thanks to the objective-based gameplay that's pushed to the forefront of this gravity-bending hero shooter. So if you, like me, are crap at shooters but really want to get involved, LawBreakers will welcome you with open arms. Then its players will crush you with mad floaty parkour skills, but that's all part of the charm. Right?
