OPUS: The Day We Found Earth Reviews
Opus: The Day We Found Earth is a lovely little game. At more or less the length of a movie, it's not going to keep you entertained for the weekend, but it's perfect for a quiet night in. Digital stargazing is a surprisingly compelling pursuit, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with OPUS - it's charming, affecting and proof positive that the Switch can be a wonderful storyteller.
OPUS: The Day We Found Earth is a unique take on hidden object and storytelling within video games. It's as bittersweet as it is achingly short. Though not for everyone, it is a reminder that not all games are simply "games".
OPUS: The Day We Found Earth, is a chilled star searching game with a light-hearted narrative. It’s a touching game about a robot continuing one person’s life long ambition to find the beginning of human history. Even though the gameplay is simplistic, it adds to the overall feeling of relaxation. It’s a short game that can be finished in 2 hours or a bit more if you’re a completionist.
OPUS is very cute, and while the story obviously borrows heavily from elsewhere, and while the core mechanic will feel familiar to fans of Mass Effect, it was almost a lovely idea.
