Kirby: Planet Robobot was a blast from start to finish. The platforming, combat and level design are better than they’ve ever been in a Kirby game.

Kirby: Planet Robobot is another fun ride through Planet Popstar that only falters in its lack of innovation and short length.

Kirby Planet Robobot is a game I thoroughly enjoyed and it serves as a wonderful example of what the series has to offer. With a fantastic array of abilities, a unifying theme, a more present story, and the new Robobot armor, it grants players a more focused adventure than Triple Deluxe did.

Planet Robobot is the same old, funny and colorful Kirby game. Enjoyable, full of extra modes and a bit on the predictable side.

Kirby: Planet Robobot may not be the most challenging platformer around, but its clever use of robotic destruction combined with gorgeous environmental puzzles and unique bosses make for an entertaining ride. I only wish Kirby’s monstrous mech suit could make proper use of the huge amount of collectibles.

Planet Robobot feels a lot like Kirby’s last outing, it’s never boring (and the final few hours have some unexpected and exciting surprises)

Even with robot armor, Kirby retains his charm

Planet Robobot does nothing to advance the state of the video game art, or even to reinvent the Kirby series. And that's fine. Sometimes you just need a straightforward, energetic, and above all fun game, and it's here where HAL delivers. Centered around a brilliant upgrade mechanic, bursting with lively graphics, and featuring dozens of thoughtfully designed stages, Kirby's latest is one of the most entertaining chapters to date of a long and storied franchise.

Though Kirby’s Adventure was super-easy, I still loved the hell out of it and I still do nostalgically. But it’s not 1993 anymore... even if sometimes I want it to be. Kirby: Planet Robobot isn't bad by any means, and it's still plenty fun, but it's akin to that song you loved in college or that book you read as a kid that changed your life. It doesn't keep quite the same appeal so many years later, as good as it still may be.

Kirby: Planet Robobot also offers some alternatives in the form of other modes. Two of them, Meta-Knightmare Returns and The Arena, are a traditional Time Attack (as Meta-Knight) and Boss Rush mode, respectively. Those are unlocked after completing the main story. Two other modes, available from the start, offer wholly different experiences from the standard Kirby game, and are better for it.

Kirby: Planet Robobot is a great new addition to the classic series. Aside from the new mech suit it doesn't do a whole lot different from its predecessors, but that shouldn't bother those who just want another great 2D platformer for their 3DS collection.

Nintendo's Kirby: Planet Robobot introduces the pink protagonist to a brand new platforming mechanic in the form of a giant mech suit, and the end result is rather refreshing.

Kirby: Planet Robobot might be easy, but it’s an equally satisfying platformer to play on the go with the 3DS. It’s an adventure that the round pick hero begs you to join him on, and you’d be hard pressed to be dissatisfied with the journey.

Having only been announced and revealed this past March, it’s been a bit of a shame that Kirby hasn’t had the same level of attention that Mario, Link, and Nintendo’s more prominent stable of characters have enjoyed over the years. While Planet Robobot may be a title that has flown a little under-the-radar for some, it nevertheless is a worthwhile addition to the Kirby series, and more than worthwhile to be a part of a 3DS owner’s library. More experience platforming players may want a bit more of a challenge, but for light, breezy fun in a richly-colorful world, by no means should you pass over Kirby: Planet Robobot. More than anything, where else will you get the chance to pilot a transforming, mechanized pink puffball?

“Kirby: Planet Robobot” is an excellent addition to the franchise that manages to freshen up the series with its new Robobot Armor gameplay. Difficulty can be on the easy side for the most part, which might dismay folks looking for a challenge but also makes it more accessible to gamers of all ages and skill levels. The Team Kirby Clash mode is also a fun diversion for co-op lovers. If you’re a fan of Kirby platforming and puzzle solving, Kirby: Planet Robobot is one game you’ll definitely get sucked into.

Stuck to the old gameplay formula Planet Robobot shows an impressive level design and opens the doors to some interesting puzzle solving. One last great adventure on this generation of portable console.
