This is a game with genuinely days upon days worth of missions, challenges, objectives, characters and things to collect. It's not content light by any means - though it also doesn't change up at any point during its entire playtime. This is a pretty great Dynasty Warriors game, and Warriors fans will find hours of fun, but I'm not sure that more casual fans of action games will find it as endearing.

An action-packed brawler that's great to play with (local) friends, this port is impaired by inferior visuals, lack of an online multiplayer mode, and other problems.

The insane amount of content overall that Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition has to offer truly makes it a worthy purchase for any fan of Dynasty Warriors, and is a great place to start for anybody that is looking to get into the series for the first time. Those expecting something different to the usual Dynasty Warriors formula won't find it here, however. Fans who don't own the original Dynasty Warriors 8 should have an absolute blast with this, but it might not be worth buying for owners of the initial version, unless desperate to play the extra story of Lu Bu, as well as the other extras.

A brilliantly absurd arcade brawler that's brimming with personality, but suffers from repetition and a glaring lack of online multiplayer.

In spite of the repetitive sounds, uninspired music and dated visuals, the game still offers the best experience in the entire series. The brawling itself, although repetitive, offers enough variation to keep things interesting, and it will take you a while to try out all the different weapons.

Bottomline, if you are a fan of the franchise and you're stuck with no other means of playing this game, go ahead and pick up the PC version and push through the problems and enjoy yourself.

If you've given the franchise a serious try in the past and hated it, the gobs of content in 'Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition' likely won't sway you, and the levels are even sadder looking on the PS4 than they were on the PS3. If you were to ever demo the game though, you'd likely get pulled in, suddenly wanting to chain a light strike into a charge attack into a Mosou attack in a Rage state so that you can Rampage while at Attack x 2 so as to demolish, say, Cao Cao's entire personal retinue of officers and soldiers. This is button-mashing with just enough depth to attempt a Zen state and possibly the deepest PS4 title to date. Suddenly, anticipation for that 'Legend of Zelda' 'Hyrule Warriors' game is through the roof.

With an incredible amount of content, and a number of gameplay refinements, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is the best Dynasty Warriors games in years. It won't convince the haters, but it will have fans saying, "Among men, Lu Bu. Among Dynasty Warriors, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition."

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is a great buy if you haven't played a game in the series in a while, and are looking for something to hold you over while you wait for the PS4's library of games to grow, but for fans, this is not the next generation leap forward that you were hoping for.

As it stands, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is one of the most feature-rich entries in the history of the franchise, and has come out at a perfect time to pick up newcomers who are looking for fun games to play on their lacking PlayStation 4 library.

Dynasty Warriors fans will have their fun here, and people who missed out on the original release will have a ton to play through while having some mindless fun.

Dynasty Warriors 8 made some improvements to the series, which make it play better than its predecessors, but it's still not quite the accessible, mainstream hit of titles like The Last of Us or Bioshock.

You can't go wrong with Xtreme Legends if you have a deep love for the Dynasty Warriors franchise. That being said, not enough has changed to justify an upgrade from the vanilla version on PS3, .

Without question the biggest, best looking, and most refined Warriors title on the battlefield, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is an absolute must buy for fans, while newcomers will find themselves jumping into the action at the most opportune time. Although the franchise will have to grind its recurring issues into dust before its next outing, we have a feeling that you won't be seeing an entry that's this robust for a long, long time.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends - Complete Edition has so much to offer and so much to do that it's difficult not to enjoy yourself. Is it perfect? No, but it gives hope that future Dynasty Warriors titles will look and play amazing on the current generation of systems. I think with a bit more work Omega Force can perfect this game. Right now, it's a really good game, but not yet great.

If you haven't played a Dynasty Warriors game in a long while, picking up Xtreme Legends on your shiny new PS4 isn't a bad idea. It doesn't offer up anything mind-blowing that demands the attention of casual fans, but as a complete package it's a wonderful entry point.

If you're eyeing up the PlayStation 3 version of Xtreme Legends then I can't strongly recommend it. New characters are always great, as are new stages, but the lack of thought put into the addition to Ambition Mode is disappointing to say the least. The same negative applies to the PlayStation 4's Complete Edition though doesn't impact on the game's other contents, taken from the original Dynasty Warriors 8.

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends: Complete Edition is like a comfy blanket you've had for years and years. It's starting to fall apart at the edges and smell, even though you've washed it to keep it looking respectable as it ages. You love the nostalgia and sentimentality it offers but you know in your heart you're going to have to replace it with a new one someday. This saddens you, but you choose not to think about it, as you curl up every night with it until all that's left are a few tattered threads. "Maybe the new one will last me even longer than you did" you whisper quietly. The thought brings a bittersweet smile to your face as you drift to sleep.

So once again, I can only recommend Dynasty Warriors Xtreme Legends 8 to people who haven't yet bought the original Dynasty Warriors 8 but this creates a weird situation. As I said before, the Dynasty Warriors formula really hasn't changed and at this point really only appeals to die-hard Dynasty Warriors fans. As such, most die-hard fans will have already picked up the original Dynasty Warriors 8. So one has to wonder, who is Xtreme Legends 8 actually marketed for? The best answer that we can come up with is Lu Bu fanatics, and you'd be surprised how many of those actually exist.
