Halo Wars 2 Reviews
I really love Halo Wars 2. It’s not the deepest RTS, and it really is best for fans of the Halo universe. As it is available for Game Pass there is no harm in trying things solo or even better, with a friend in co-op. Add in the excellent expansion Awakening the Nightmare and you have yourself a genuinely awesome game.
Halo Wars 2 is a fine RTS that sadly could not make an RTS fan out of me.
A diet RTS, but still the best one on console
Halo Wars is a comfortable and appropriate evolution of the original and is a glowing successor to the original's daring attempt at creating a real-time strategy game for consoles. A new threat, an old friend, Halo Wars 2 fits into the entire Halo franchise quite well. The biggest complaint that I have with Halo Wars 2 is less about the game and more about the franchise. Time and time again it feels that 343 Industries has strung out the franchise with a carrot-on-a-stick, and that carrot is always "another splinter faction of the Covenant is haywire, go kill them all." While fun it has gotten old, quickly, and I would love to see something truly new come out of the franchise, but until that happens, Halo Wars 2 is an excellent spinoff series for Halo fans.
Aside from a few graphical improvements and mechanical tweaks, not much has changed. Sadly, a lack of true originality and asymmetry makes this sequel just a tad weaker than its prequel.
If you are a fan of a real-time strategy game, you will not regret buying it. Players even have an addiction to the game.

A recommended take on the RTS genre, especially for console and a big must for Halo and Halo Wars fans especially.
If you’ve been tempted to venture into the world of Real-Time Strategy at any point in your life, then Halo Wars 2 could very well be your perfect entry point into this long-running and popular genre.
Halo Wars 2 is a decent sucessor of this well known series. It can certainly entertain for many evenings, but is lacking in innovation. However, if you want to play a RTS on your console, it's definitely a good choice.

Here we are with work from Creative Assembly that's actually fun. I won't suggest that it revolutionizes the RTs genre the way that the original Halo Wars did. That game managed to make RTS titles fun on console, something that I didn't even think I wanted until I actually had it in my hands. Creative Assembly further innovates on that already revolutionary formula.
On the one hand, Halo Wars 2 doesn't bring anything new to the genre. In addition, it is not a production without minor flaws. On the other hand, the atmosphere characteristic of the Halo series and a great multiplayer mode save the production and distinguish it from other strategies. If you like Spartan adventures and appreciate the online battle mode, you will definitely be satisfied with the purchase of Halo Wars 2.

Halo Wars 2 is a dull RTS with a beautiful spirit
After the huge success of Halo Wars in 2009, now after 8 years, we have the copy and almost the same game but with some difference and new features. Halo Wars 2 is here to make RTS fans proud and if you are one of those people that always enjoy these games, well this game is for you; but if you are a new player to the series and this type of games, you better go and start with something else.

Halo Wars 2 does not necessarily add anything new, but its formulaic approach to RTS games is a breath of fresh air for console owners. A bland story, mixed with incredibly realized cutscenes, fun yet repetitive mission structure, and fast-paced competitive multiplayer creates a full package that is definitely worth your time.
Captivating, yet not without its issues
Halo Wars 2 doesn't break any new ground, and won't soon overtake the leaders of the genre, but it offers plenty for gamers who seek a refined console-focused RTS and another joyous trip into the Halo universe.
This sequel is another decent attempt at bringing strategy games to console, but gameplay can feel shallow at times
The new Blitz mode adds a different approach to the RTS combat to which we have become accustomed, and the shorter, more action-oriented, matches give newcomers and veterans alike something into which to sink their teeth.
