Dishonored 2, however unfortunately, feels like a dumbed-down version of its predecessor, when a lot more could have been done to utilise the new hardware and create a fantastic experience, building on that of its predecessor.

Dishonored 2 is an excellent stealth game bogged down by a terrible port. Consider this score provisional until Arkane fixes its myriad issues.

Make no mistake: Dishonored 2 is an exquisite game that's likely to please anyone who enjoyed its predecessor. That's assuming they can play it at a reasonable framerate, though, and right now that's a pretty hefty assumption.

As a fan of Dishonored, my disbelief in how Dishonored 2 performed on my end was eye opening to say the least. Maybe a few patches down the road could make Dishonored 2 more malleable to a consumer like myself but until then I’ll be setting my second playthrough aside and moving on to better and more serviceable games.

Dishonored 2 is a substantial improvement over its predecessor and is an expertly crafted continuation from the first. With a plethora of choices and wonderful architectural puzzle design, Dishonored 2 is truly an immersive experience. It's just a shame it's held back by terrible and unfortunate PC performance.

Don't get disappointed by a plot that is as far from ambitious, original, and engrossing as possible, because, as gameplay goes, few can hold a candle to Arkane Studios' Dishonored 2's level of replayability, non-linearity, and just plain fun. As for the gripes concerning the inexcusable framerate drops, follow this simple advice: wait a while, and then jump right in, because this isn't a title that's worth avoiding just because of its current technical issues.

There's so much effort put into the actual gameplay and level design that Arkane Studios' laziness with everything else makes the unrefined parts stand out all the more. It isn't enough to ruin the whole experience, but Dishonored 2 absolutely suffers from its horrible story, voice direction, sound mixing, general lagginess, and sloppy optimisation. A video game's first priority should be the gameplay, but its other facets shouldn't suffer as a result. The actual game design is incredibly creative and the replay value is through the roof, but everything else is lacking in just about every other regard. As it stands, Dishonored 2 is certainly playable and fun, but never lives up to all its potential.

Dishonored 2 is a functional follow-up to a classic that is mired by the addition of all sorts of unnecessary elements.

A competent and fun stealth experience brought down by some technical issues and the inexplicable lack of new game plus.

On paper, Dishonored 2 is a marked improvement on almost everything the original game brought to the table.

Dishonored 2 continues the story from the first game fifteen years later and invites newcomers to the fascinating world as much as veterans of the first game.

At its heart, Dishonored 2 is the game Assassins Creed should be. A lean, focussed stealth experience that can be played as a balls out action game should the desire take you. But despite being a solid experience, there really isn’t enough in this sequel to push the series forward. The two character mechanic isn’t explored as fully as it really could have been and the general aesthetic and mechanics simply feel like more of the same. While it’s well worth a play, Dishonored 2 feels, in some ways, like a missed opportunity.

Dishonored 2 is a good game marred by too many issues, and adds up to far less than the sum of its parts.

Dishonored 2 doesn’t live up to the original, but it still provides great gameplay mechanics and a sense of freedom you can’t find anywhere else.

"Dishonored 2 will absolutely dazzle you with its gameplay, level design, crafting, and exploration methods. Never have I had a more thrilling experience making my way diversely through a world. Just don't expect that level of joy with the rest of the game. The story won't get to you emotionally but it is passable. The real problem you have to worry about is that the A.I. makes a bag of rocks look like a meeting of top thinkers. Not without its flaws, then, the game is still easy to recommend for fans of the previous title and whomever likes non-linear adventures."

An interesting idea, but not a very good game. I enjoyed watching it for an hour but replaying it became very frustrating. Bandersnatch did a similar idea and doesn’t require a direct purchase price.

Dishonored 2 doesn’t fall short when it comes to giving players a flexible experience. It’s fun and has something to say about its world and its characters.

Dishonored 2 is an excellent sequel to an excellent game, and improves on the weaknesses of the first game and polishes its strengths even more. It retains everything that was good about the first game and used it as a foundation to build which I can safely say is a better game than the original. Dishonored 2 is a great stealth action game that is filled with tons of replayability, which begs you to dip your toes into the expertly crafted world that Arkane Studios created for us. I can wholeheartedly recommend this game for the Dishonored fans and even the newcomers to the franchise as it is definitely worthy of your attention.
