It’s difficult to recommend this title to anyone without much knowledge of South Park, because the experience is suffused with material only fans will fully appreciate. This is nevertheless one of the occasional licensed titles that actually does its source justice, and is an incredibly easy recommendation to anyone who likes RPGs and has some appreciation for Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s amazingly long-lived series.

The Fractured But Whole is a solidly good RPG game that incorporates the South Park attitude with a lot less “in-your-face” crudeness than The Stick of Truth. It has a better fighting setup, an easier-to- digest storyline, and is still laugh out loud funny at times. What else do you need from a South Park game?

The switch version of South Park: The Fractured But-Whole it's a great conversion and it shows once and for all that even Nintendo consoles can have games with adult content.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole may be a tactical RPG but it's, first and foremost, a South Park episode turned into a game and which does a marvelous job at portraying the cartoon series. While its appeal will be far greater to fans of the series, the game possesses a wide variety of customization options for characters, as well as a respectable lifespan...even more, if the loading times are included in the process.

Surely you've ever seen on television a chapter of South Park, the series that revolves around a group of children in the town of South Park, Colorado.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole for Nintendo Switch allows you to finally play while sitting in the toilet. Sadly, the re-release does not contain additional content and suffers from a number of technical problems that Ubisoft promises to patch in the future.

South Park The Fractured But Whole is like a 20-hour episode of South Park. A satirical take on superhero films, it looks, sounds and feels the part – for the good and the bad. Essential for fans of the show, not for those that are easily offended. And absolutely not for kids!

This is a must-have for fans of the series, fans of fourth wall-breaking, vulgarity, and humour. South Park: The Fractured But Whole offers the complete South Park experience wherever you are, at the cost of no cut content, and no lacking performance. It inspires hope for more mature games on the system, and once again shows just what it is capable of.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole on the Switch is a flawed game with bugs, small performance issues, and long loading times. While the game is a fun but weaker successor to The Stick of Truth, it doesn't look great in its current state. Even with its flaws, it's still an enjoyable journey, but it's not worth the high price tag until most of the performance issues are addressed in an upcoming patch.

The Switch version of South Park: the Fractured But Whole is a straight port. It's a good game that will appeal to anyone who has a love of violently tolerant rednecks and children caught up in increasingly bizarre situations, but a few loading time issues stop it from being the best way to play.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole captures the very best of South Park. The creators have woven irreverent and offensive humor seamlessly into an outrageous and entertaining RPG adventure. By making the leap to the Switch, the Coon and Friends can now be played on the go, but at the cost of slower load times. Even so, this is a raunchy superhero epic no fan should miss.

But Whole lands on Nintendo Switch retaining all the visual fidelity with the TV series, as does with its unique humor (now with the original voiceover from the animation). A great port that only suffers in one aspect: loading times are longer and a little bit often than in other versions. We also miss that this version doesn't include all the DLC.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is still fun to play on the Switch, but a number of technical issues prevent it from being anything more than a simple port.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is an amazing game also on Nintendo Switch, despite the long loading times, and some problems in the docked mode (a bit of aliasing and fonts a little bit too small for comfort). A wonderful experience for all the South Park fans, but only if you don't have the chance to play it elsewhere.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is ridiculously offensive and absurdly hilarious.

Though there are a few very minor polish issues inherent in the Switch port, South Park: The Fractured But Whole is imbued from top to bottom with an insane level of authenticity that's truly faithful to its irreverent source material.

Cartman returns once more to inject some crude one-liners into a South Park turn-based RPG game that'll have you grinning from ear-to-ear from beginning to end. If you can deal with all the loading times you have a very loud and proud fart indeed.

An excellent RPG and the best South Park game out yet... but not the best port due some slowdowns and minor bugs. Despite that this one is a more than welcomed adittion to Nintendo Switch game library.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is an excellent RPG that adds a hefty amount of mechanical depth to improve upon The Stick of Truth. Admittedly, some of the gaming commentary is less effective if the player has experience with the previous instalment. However, there are still plenty of surprises and enough side-splitting moments to make it a must-buy for any fans of South Park, especially if seasoned gamers, too. While the storyline itself isn't quite as clever as something from the show, the jokes and dialogue meet the same standards. The kid's move from fantasy to super heroes pays off, although if there's a third adventure, it would need to deviate more substantially from its predecessor. It's a shame the existing DLC couldn't have been included as standard, but at least the Switch version runs without issue for the most part, and wasn't delayed for too long. Overall, this is an excellent port.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole feels just like an animated feature from the TV series with the same lewd jokes, satirical social commentary along with an improved combat and exploration system. [OpenCritic note: Khurram Imtiaz separately reviewed the PS4 (9) and Switch (8) versions. Their scores have been averaged.]
