After countless epic sieges, splintered shields, and gnarly executions, For Honor has firmly cemented itself as one of the best multiplayer games we've ever played. It's unlike anything else out there, weaving together a unique combat system while cherry picking the best parts of being a live service game.

For Honor offers up one of the most visceral multiplayer experiences in video games. The single player campaign is a nice diversion, but won't satisfy those seeking a full experience. Once you hit multiplayer though, you'll be hooked and finding time for other video games will be the real problem.

For Honor is an ambitious IP that hit the blade right in the jugular, creating a beautiful new combat system, character in its various roles and factions, and an underlying amount of depth and customization that contributes to an engaging multiplayer experience with tons of replayability. If you've wondered what it's like to hold a 5 foot long sword, For Honor is going to be your best chance at feeling the intimacy of dueling with histories deadliest warriors.

Yes, Ubisoft did it again. Another brand new IP that is good enough to hopefully find a big enough audience. You have to respect the publisher for bringing so many brand new experiences, something that other big publishers fail to do. For Honor redefines the hack and slash genre with a tactical combat system and addictive online play.

For Honor is a game that I am not even close to finishing with. Its campaign is big enough to not feel tacked on, but the draw of the multiplayer action keeps dragging me away from finishing it. I can feel my skills improving after every round because it’s a new way to play against other players and that deserves highlighting in a highly saturated section of the market.

Ubisoft’s For Honor is an enjoyable, visually stunning and gritty experience that might be a bit too original for its own good. Being such a niche genre might push away your normal players, and the singleplayer part might not be enough for someone to cough up $60. Nevertheless, with the right community management, a steady flow of updates, balancing and a ranked mode coming, it could become something great, like what happened with Rainbow Six Siege, 6 month after its launch. Who knows? But for now, give this title a chance as it’s a good one.

A small handful of flaws aren’t quite enough to dull the appeal of For Honor’s peerless combat and deceptive depth. For Honor looks like it’ll be my go-to multiplayer game for quite some time and if you give it a go, chances are it’ll be yours, too. For anyone with even the slightest love of melee combat, For Honor is a must-have.

Values such as honor, courage and strength perfectly exemplify the concept behind For Honor, another bold bet won by Ubisoft, thanks to an innovative combat system, as well as a rich and well-structured multiplayer mode. The lack of a more spectacular single-player campaign prevents it from being one of the first of 2017's true masterpieces.
