Rayman Legends feels more polished and looks even richer than its already stunning predecessor. As far as pure platformers go this generation, you'll be hard pressed trying to find one better than this.

Oozing quality and packed with content, Rayman Legends justifies its place among the platforming elite, and proves that even after all this time, Ubisoft's oldest mascot is still full of new ideas.

Rayman Legends is a phenomenal game, and one that I was pleasantly surprised by. Filled with bright, creative worlds, a fantastic soundtrack, and platforming without peer, Rayman Legends is a game that anyone, from child to adult, can and should play. And at its $40 price tag, it's a value that cannot be easily beaten.

Those who haven't played this game, you need this in your game collection because it is a perfect example of a great platformer. Whether or not this game is worth $40 is a subjective decision each of you will need to make, but we certainly would be willing to recommend picking this game up day one on PS4 regardless. It's simply that good, once again.

Yes it's available on nearly every other platform but that means that everyone can experience the expert level design, constant surprise and cheerful glee that is Rayman Legends.

As controversial as the score may be, it is hard to argue against Rayman Legends being the unrivalled platform adventure of this generation, and the 'one to beat' in the upcoming new generation of systems that is about to kick-off. Building upon the superbly solid foundation of Rayman Origins is no mean feat, but Ubisoft has indeed managed to out-do the House of Mario in the genre in which many thought Nintendo was untouchable. Made for Wii U, playing this on any other format will undoubtedly be an inferior experience.

If you are a fan of platforming games, Rayman Legends should be a pretty easy acquisition to justify. Even if dozens of levels of running and jumping usually are not your thing, there is enough quality content here to make Rayman Legends worth your while. No matter which camp you fall into, Rayman Legends on the current generation of consoles is the best platforming experience of this early 2014 year.

Rayman has made it to the same level as Mario and the rest of the elite. With Rayman Legends, it sometimes feels like he's building a new platform above them, so he can stand alone as the one true king.

Rayman Legends is a game that deserves to be played by everyone. The art style and music are some of my favorite from this generation, and compliment each other outstandingly. If you are looking to get the best experience grab the 360 or PS3 version, but the Vita and Wii U versions are only slightly inferior. The extensive amount of content will make sure you lose yourself for days.

Rayman squirts, jumps, runs very fast, and goes through -stage after stage- a wonderful world. Thus he discovers this dreamlike universe: a multifaceted and multicolored imagery, drawn with a love for details that seems unthinkable, but above all so attentive to enhancing the new, defining a microcosm full of strange creatures, debris, dead that celebrate. In addition to the glance, the construction of the levels, the positioning of every object, secret, obstacle stands out: the design of the internships interfaces perfectly with the many motor skills of the protagonist, both when taking more relaxed times and asking to explore every ravine, and when instead pushes him to a desperate race.

While this seemed impossible, Ubisoft managed to create an even better product than Rayman Origins. Legends do not discover all the perks right away and are a great entertainment for both children and platformers.

I've enjoyed the recent adventures of Mario, Kirby, and Donkey Kong as well as the more insane challenge of Super Meat Boy and Cloudberry Kingdom, but Rayman Legends outshines them all. Brimming with charm and creativity, Rayman Legends is the finest 2D platformer of this generation, and handily so.

It's a joyous marvel of game design, and one of the very, very few straight-up 2D platformers out there with a solid claim to Mario's crown.
