Livelock Reviews
If you want lasers and exploding robots, you've got 'em here in Livelock. Otherwise, there isn't much for you.
While Livelock doesn’t take any exceptional leaps in the twin-stick shooter genre, the blending of familiar concepts from Diablo and Destiny with the hectic action make this a fine cooperative experience.
When reviewing a game, it is vital to approach it with a critical eye as even the smallest flaw can be a deal breaker for some.
Livelock is a fun ride, but it is short-lived that is to its benefit and detriment. The game never overstays its welcome, but with how brisk you can get through the game makes it hard to see its value. There's plenty of ways to replay the game, but I never felt compelled to do any of it again with another character or try to find someone online. Livelock has some interesting things going for it, but I won't be going back until some expansions add something worth coming back to.
If you enjoy twin-stick shooters and/or action RPGs then you’ll likely enjoy it. For the meager price tag, I definitely recommend picking it up and trying it out.
If you’re a fan of top down shooters but also enjoy a deeper gameplay experience, then I couldn’t recommend Livelock highly enough. The gameplay is delightfully hectic and destructive, while the RPG elements make for a more engaging experience. Despite the slightly bland environment design, Livelock is a game that straddles the line between casual and hardcore gameplay.
Pretty visuals and some fun combat can’t make up for the fact that Livelock lacks any real spark.
If you’re after a more challenging shooter or one with local multiplayer options, you’d be better pressed to look elsewhere unfortunately but on the whole, Livelock is a game which will provide hours of entertainment and provides a very enjoyable online co-op experience and proves to be a satisfying investment.
