Inversus is a decent puzzler that’s much better with friends, but the enjoyment won’t last for long due to limited maps and modes.

Inversus's core gameplay is hectic and it can be fun in short bursts.

With a solid Arcade Mode, and a Versus Mode that allows for both local and online play against others, Inversus promises to be an enjoyable, albeit somewhat brief, action-packed experience for any and all who try it.

INVERSUS Deluxe provides a nice multiplayer and a decent single player experience on the Switch, making great use of the Joycons. Though the simple nature of the game is easy to learn, there really is not a lot to it, so don't except a very deep or rich experience. But if you've got a hankering for a solid twin-stick shooter (that you can play with your friends) on-the-go, you can't go wrong.

If you’re on the hunt for a new competitive game to play with friends, Inversus is a solid choice given its price and its unique concept. However, unless you’re confident you’ll be able to recruit some friends to play with, you might want to look elsewhere for your next indie fix.

Overall as long as you buy into the core gameplay being offered INVERSUS Deluxe delivers a great deal of value for the price of admission. With ample single-player content in the form of Arcade and Versus mode map unlocks as well as cosmetic things like special trails, emoticons, or color schemes if you enjoy playing the game overall you have plenty here to make your way through. If you have a friend available either locally or online there are also plenty of ways to enjoy playing together. Even if you don’t have anyone to play with locally as long as there are people actively playing online when you’re out looking for someone to match up with you’re covered on that level as well. If you like a challenging mix of strategy and action packaged up in an attractive package INVERSUS Deluxe is a full-featured option.

Nine times out of ten, I’ll play games that aren’t story driven with my headphones in and listening to whatever music I am in the mood for that day; however it’s impossible to do this whilst playing Inversus. The upbeat, electronica-esque style music by Lyvo weirdly enough helped me concentrate on playing the game and you’d expect it to get a bit repetitive after a while but it doesn’t, so that’s a plus. I guess whilst taking all of the above into consideration and my own personal learning curve I wish to revisit my earlier comment and reinforce how good this game really is. It’s simple – the more and more you play it, the better and better you get. The shots that you fire off take an insane amount of accuracy and timing, and that just makes the game a bigger challenge than it already is. Its hard to pick faults at a game like this but if I had a tiny bit of constructive criticism it would be more maps for Arcade mode to rival the amount for Versus. If you’re anything at all like me then you’ll find yourself silently or violently swearing to the high heavens, throwing your controller about and mentally back-flipping when you beat your personal best. Inversus is an addictive work of pure genius and well worth an 8/10

Inversus is ideal in short spurts and bound to leave you glued to your screen, especially when you have the option to enjoy this game with friends, either online or locally.

INVERSUS may be short on content overall but the way it’s designed will ensure you’re having a great time with all the varied experiences. It’s a true return to form of the arcade, cabinet experience. Just hearing the “pew pew” noises of your square’s shots brings back memories of the 80’s and 90’s machine scene. Chaining together kills, wiping out the entire map due to a well placed shot, and not only having to act as well as think was truly gratifying. I can’t wait until the game releases so I can play more players and see what other situations are brought about.

It was fun playing this one for my Inversus review, and I’m definitely going back to it to unlock every single trophy! It’s great for a few rounds or for extended gaming sessions, so I highly recommend that you buy it today for your PS4 collection. The online side of things might not be completely there, but get a bunch of friends together (either at home or by online) and you will have a blast with Inversus.

With the positive factors aside, Inversus may seem somehow boring and also it's expensive cost may result a mixed idea about the game itself but still, Inversus is a highly addictive game, one of those that gamers can play all the times they want! So if you're searching for a good and demanding Co-Op game, Inversus would definitely satisfy your desires.

Did I have fun doing my Inversus review? Definitely. The game might seem short, but it has a single player component, an offline and online multiplayer component and leaderboards, so there’s definitely a lot of replay value in this release.

Inversus is a very entertaining game — while the lack of diagonal shooting and occasional lag in the online mode could be frustrating, the rest of the title is addicting enough to keep players coming back to fight for the high score. Facing people online was also a very fun experience, and I am excited to see what kind of community builds itself around this game. There is easily enough strategy in the game that versus and arcade matches never get old, even on the limited selections of maps. If you are a fan of high-score chasing or couch co-op, Inversus should be on your radar.

INVERSUS is a powerful example of how to take one mechanic and give the player the power to explore it. It's at its best when two gamers are going after one another, but even the arcade experience is fantastic. There's limited space for exploration, and perhaps the most useful weapon could be a bit easier to use. Still, any fan of shooters or competitive games needs to give INVERSUS a shot, even if they try nothing else. It's clearly the best couch co-operative game of the year, and with arcade mode and online play available, there's still enough here to make this a classic.

Inversus is absolutely for you if you love score chasing, addicting games or if you have local friends to play with. I’m glad it has online multiplayer even though it may be hard to find players on it. I wish the single player mode was a bit longer but other than that the game is great. For such a simple looking game it really surprised me with how fun it turned out to be.

It's tough to describe how amazing Inversus feels on paper, but once you pick it up for the first time you'll understand. The economy of bullets, sneaky homegrown tactics, a slight concession for solo players, and a robust multiplayer component with an array of maps? It's a no-brainer.

Inversus is an exceptionally well-crafted game, and the thoughtful touches and well-balanced mechanics elevate it far beyond its simple core. Pretty much every element of the game feels like someone spent hours thinking about how to make it just right. This is an excellent game, and I had a huge amount of fun playing it.
