Seasons After Fall is an incredibly charming platforming experience. The art style, soundtrack, and overall atmosphere are well done. The powers of the seasons are also great although the puzzles weren’t challenging enough and didn’t utilize them properly. If you feel like having a good time without thinking too much, I would definitely recommend it. However, if you’re looking for a challenge, this might not be the game for you.

This is a very relaxing and visually outstanding game, which most of you, fans of peaceful 2D adventures will immediately fall in love with. Those looking for combat and fast paced combat though, will be left disappointed if going to play this game with that in mind.

Seasons After Fall is a labour of love that is nothing short of an artistic triumph. While it does have control issues, it manages to rise above them to become an enthralling puzzle-platform experience.

I wish I wasn't so down on Seasons After Fall. It's a great looking game, and I really enjoyed being in that world. However, after about twenty minutes, that novelty starts to wear off and I found myself asking "What more is there to this?", to which the answer seems to be "not much". There are definitely worse platformers out there, and I certainly didn't hate my time playing it, but Seasons After Fall could, and should, have been so much more than what it is.

Seasons After Fall offers colour and charm by the bucket load – as developer Swing Swing Submarine’s magical platforming fox adventure hits the right notes with a gorgeous hand drawn art style, and a concept to match its colourful aesthetic. But there are some core issues that hold it back.

Seasons After Fall is not so much about being directed as it is about finding direction.

On the whole, I would recommend Seasons After Fall to anyone looking for another pretty indie platformer. Seasons After Fall certainly holds its own (minus the glitches) against other favorites within the genre, but doesn’t do enough to truly surpass its counterparts. Still, it can be quite calming and engaging for a short period of time and is certainly worth the playthrough for anyone looking for a new platformer.

It has been an amazing year for games in 2017 thus far, with huge releases such as Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mass Effect: Andromeda, and Horizon Zero Dawn just to name a few. A large majority of these big releases have something in common, in that they all feature extensive storylines in a massively open world. While it may be a blast to explore the vastness of space or the impressive landscape of Hyrule, sometimes I need a game that gives me a smaller more focused experience. This is the exact reason I absolutely adored the time I spent with Seasons After Fall.

Seasons After Fall‘s story is almost like a child’s favorite bedtime book with its adorable illustrations. Making the story not too complicated to understand, but the message it conveyed was deep. Its music is very relaxing coupled with sounds of nature making it so pleasant to the ears.

Seasons After Fall has been out for some time on the PC and is only recently made its way over to the consoles. Being woken up by a soft female voice, you'll be taking control of "the seed" as it possesses a nearby fox in order to traverse the lengths and depths of the forest in order to perform the ritual of the seasons.

Seasons after Fall is a game that deserves all the praise and attention it will undoubtedly receive. Offering a unique style of gameplay with the ability to control the seasons, and a lovely artistic style that other games only dream of having, this is one that fans of platformers everywhere need to experience. Get lost in this word, and let the feeling of walking through nature as a child and appreciating every little thing engulf you once again. You won't regret it.

Warning... the following is entirely the opinion of the author, and in no way reflects the opinion of agononline.com, or its affiliates. It has taken me a while to write anything lately. To my four fans, including my mother, I want to apologize. I've been wallowing in the mire of this US presidential election. It has eaten my core, like a fat, secretly racist caterpillar, until I just want to drink and pray for death. In the last debate, one candidate had no idea that Russia detonated its first nuclear weapon in 1949, describing them as being new to nuclear technology. My inner nerd cried. This is one of our options.

Seasons after Fall is a beautiful game that focuses purely on exploration as adventure, requiring you to make smart use of changing seasons in order to progress. While not a long game, it certainly is engaging, keeping you locked into the game from start to finish.
