Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 8: A Journey's End? Reviews
Episode 8: A Journey’s End? was great, and it concludes the Minecraft: Story Mode Adventure Pass expansion perfectly. After eight episodes spanning a year, I’ll really miss the adventures of Jesse and his crew. Oh, and the after credits scene is hilarious! It really made my time with this episode for this A Journey’s End review even more memorable.
Though not without faults, and certainly not as impactful as the previous story arc's finale, A Journey's End is both a return to form and an enjoyable conclusion for Minecraft: Story Mode.
I'd say "A Journey's End?" was a satisfying conclusion to this season of Minecraft: Story Mode though it just didn't give a very impactful finish.
It's been an interesting adventure with some significant highs and lows but now that the dust has settled and Minecraft: Story Mode and Episode 8: A Journey's End? has finally finished, it is possible to finally look back on everything that has happened. Overall, it's been a relatively enjoyable adventure; however, recurring issues and lacklustre gameplay sour the final product. While it's nice that the series got a second season, and is clearly is going to run and run, it would have been better for it to be wrapped up a bit cleaner.
Minecraft: Story Mode feels like it tip-toed off stage and isn't available for autographs after the show.
A few great moments elevate an otherwise unsatisfying finale
A Journey's End is a lacklustre ending to Minecraft: Story Mode and further reinforces the idea that the series should have stopped after episode four or five.
Inoffensive, and pleasing enough as finales go, but there’s a clear feeling that Minecraft Story Mode could have, and should have, finished much stronger than this. In truth, it did, four episodes ago.
Episode 8 is a weak ending(?) to the series, but it's nice to quickly revisit most of the transpired events.
Being the last episode in the Minecraft: Story Mode story, the episode doesn’t really close out the story of the Order of the Stone as a whole and really only makes it an addition to one of the many adventures that Jessie will have.
