Some issues with its platforming sections and the fact you really need a controller to play are the only negatives I can find with it.

Klang might not be for everyone, but players looking for a true, simultaneous platforming/rhythm gameplay will find a fresh experience in the title. The great presentation is very noticeable, it's easy to get into the early gameplay's flow once you adjust, and the game's world is impressionable. It isn't the longest game experience available, but the price is reasonable for what is provided, and there are incentives to return to Klang a number of times as players uncover the game's secrets.

Klang is one of those unfortunate cases of a great idea that fumbles in execution.

Klang is fantastically original and I enjoyed my relatively short time with the game, but it never fully delivers on the promise of either the rhythm or platforming genres.

Klang’s take on rhythm platformers is indeed a unique one, in both aesthetics and gameplay, and despite some frustrating moments and uneven difficulty holding it back, its variety of levels, attractive look and sound, and easy-to-learn-hard-to-master gameplay can still make for a highly fun experience.

Klang's strengths are also its shortcomings. The dynamic, varied gameplay is immediately exciting and unique, but it also serves to obfuscate the experience. It's an enjoyable journey, but ultimately, Klang could benefit from a bit more focus.

It feels like Klang tried to do too much at once, but with a bit more time spent towards pacing, the game would have progressed a lot smoother, making this Rave Warrior’s journey a real home run. If you’re looking for a game that has a fair bit of replay value, and is flush with quality gameplay and music, then you would be very pleased with what Klang has to offer.

A bizarre mix of platforming, shooter and rhythm game. Challenging, original and really fun.

Klang’s good ideas are upstaged by their own poor execution. Neither the rhythm or the platforming are good enough to stand on their own, with the sum of their parts still failing to add up to a complete experience. I wanted to like Klang, but this hybrid is less of a chimera and more of an abomination. At least the music was good.
