Gravity Rush 2’s true strength is showcased when you aren’t actually doing any of the missions. Just about any time you aren’t in a mission there will be several available objectives on the minimap. As someone who always has a whack of games waiting to be played, I like to get right down to business and map out the most efficient way to clear out side missions. More often than not though I’ll notice an hour or more has slipped by and I haven’t even started the next mission. Nope instead I’ve been free falling around town looking for hidden gems, snapping pictures, taking selfies or responding to online treasure hunts and event challenges.

With setbacks that could have made it a bad game, Gravity Rush 2 pulls through with its compelling story and fun gameplay.

While Gravity Rush 2 could have improved much more compared to the first game of the series, it successfully expands on the formula by adding a lot more content. It is a great deal for any fan that just wants more of the original.

Gorgeous, exhilarating and with a lot of charm, some niggles can't stop you from embracing Gravity Rush 2's positive vibe and the rush of flight.

Gravity Rush 2 is a worthy follow up to its predecessor, despite some of its most glaring issues. With a gorgeous presentation, amazing music, improved gameplay, and a great lead, if you were a fan of the first Gravity Rush and just so happen to have a PS4, do yourself a favor and pick a copy up.

The Artistic and colorful world of Gravity Rush 2 only attracts people who are patient and willing to experience anything but one of those empty-handed action games, just like a European movie which you never heard of and it becomes the most awarded movie in Cannes or Venice Film Festivals. Don’t get me wrong, Gravity Rush 2 is not so much of a masterpiece as those movies, but its vivid graphics and innovative gameplay makes you ignore some problems and grant it a second chance.

Despite my grievances Kat and company shine like a shard of glass under the midday sun. The journey will put you on the other side of 40 hours. Minus some turbulence here and there the flight is worth it. Inside this Kat beats the heart of a lion, and though it may not soar, Gravity Rush 2 falls with style.

Enjoyable enough if you liked the first game, but niggling issues stop this sequel from surpassing the original.

Its wonderful levity and quirkyness makes Gravity Rush 2 a welcome change from the usual AAA sameness.

Gravity Rush 2 is a fun game on the PlayStation 4 that offers players quite a diverse gaming platform/adventure title with plenty of things to do. I really enjoyed the stylised graphics that when matched with the special effects, audio and storyline, it created this quite immersive story from start to finish with fun characters. Sure, some of the control mechanics created a touch of controller rage but for the majority, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish.

When it comes down to it, the game has so many highs, and yet very little lows. If this is truly the last game as it’s marketed to be, then it’s a shame that there won’t be a Gravity Rush with a fleshed out story and perfected combat. At the same time, with this one, there’s so much packed in it, if another were to be announced, it would be a long ways away. A game like this is incredibly special and only comes along every so often. Gravity Rush is easily one of the Vita’s best games, and Gravity Rush 2 is easily one of the best video games ever made.

Gravity Rush 2 serves as a modern throwback reminiscent of those times when Japanese games ruled the console roost. Like hard candy with a soft center, the game does a good job in balancing its more serious themes with whimsical moments. Its gravity mechanics, meanwhile, make for compelling action despite some of its niggles. If you’re looking for a unique open world game with a Japanese flavor, Gravity Rush 2 will attract you.

With over 30 hours of gameplay time, and an intriguing online component, Gravity Rush 2 is a marked improvement over its competent predecessor. 2017 has seen an abundance of great games on the PS4. Gravity Rush 2 joins the roster of Nioh and Yakuza 0 as stellar exclusives for Sony, and is well worth picking up, whether you've played the first game or not.

While it struggles at times, Gravity Rush 2 is every bit as thrilling and creative as its astounding predecessor. Its players will be wowed by the gorgeous visuals, and every second spent traversing is an absolute joy. This game succeeds at keeping the player involved, not just in the spectacle, but also in the minutiae. A talent for darting through city streets without clumsily slamming into walls isn't necessary to complete the story, but it's rewarding in its own way. Kat's odyssey is one well worth undertaking.

There ARE things Gravity Rush 2 does right. It's gorgeous, brilliantly animated, traveling via gravity is still just as enjoyable, and Kat is a fun protagonist. But the game remains sadly held back by many of the same demons which plagued the first go-round, and as such, makes these issues far harder to forgive a second time.

Gravity Rush 2 is way more beautiful and bigger in world structure and in a number of side quests than the original game, but it's significantly behind from it concerning the story. Camera problems appear very seldom, but significantly irritate, and stealth missions can be a serious obstacle for newcomers. Nevertheless, having spent tens of hours on the game and experiencing minutes of wild anger, disappointment and admiration after, I can assure you that besides some of the side quests Gravity Rush 2 leaves a positive impression. And if you are a fan of the original game and can deal with the camera difficulties and quests of the same kind, then you can add one point to the final score.

One of the few open-world action games where I’d rather just zip around collecting crystals.

Gravity Rush 2 is an excellent sequel to the first game. It's easier to control, has an incredible depth of quantity and while it doesn't all hit, the vast majority does. It has a few strange choices in story design, particularly a false ending in one of the worst places I've ever encountered. All things considered, it's an excellent game with some of the most entertaining gameplay around, set in a fantastically designed world with a great visual design.

[T]he game’s good moments are just so good that they more than make up for its many infuriating problems.
