Princess Maker 2 Refine is a truly unique and extraordinarily catchy teenage girl simulator set in a nice fantasy world. Too bad about some unnecessary technical shortcomings. Fortunately, however, they're not a major disruption to the overall enjoyable experience.

Even with this issue, it only slightly dampens the experience because Princess Maker 2 Refine is just that good. The simulation gameplay is utterly engrossing as you work to help your daughter down a wide variety of paths.

A solid retro fantasy life simulator, with a lot of depth and possible paths. However, the myriad of possibilities are too obscured to make for effective and strategic planning.

Princess Maker 2 Refine is very much a product of its time. The game does very little to guide the player, but instead leaves them to uncover all the little intricacies on their own. Its simple premise, but deep nature will keep you coming back for more. If there is one complaint to be had with Princess Maker, it would be the ridiculously long wait for this amazing 1993 game to be finally localised.

Princess Maker 2 Refine is still capable of evoking feelings of caring, the ability to watch her grow from a child to an adult is engaging, the multitude of potential outcomes adds in a lot of replayability, and other such things means that it's a notch above basic shovelware. However, 'notch above shovelware' isn't quite the same as 'good,' but it is worth a recommendation to those whom can stand the games many, many flaws as the reward is certainly half-decent.
