Prey establishes an interesting atmosphere early on and maintains that, with only a few disagreements along the way. Lengthy load times are likely going to get reduced with patches and combat is sometimes more annoying and pace-breaking than I would like, but overall, Prey gives more than enough back in return to offer a compelling experience.

Clocking in at around 20 hours, Prey is well worth checking out even if you're not a fan of horror or sci-fi. It might not be wholly original, but that doesn't make it any less fun.

Demanding action game, which is prevented from getting higher scores by frustration and shapeless characters.

Prey is exactly what I expected, a production that suits Arkane. It's a game where you have to break down your prejudices and play and experience it.

You should not expect Prey to be much of a shooter. The gunplay is abysmal and resources quite limited. It rather focuses on many hours of exploration which give the game a slow pace. It has an interesting story with a lot of replay value but the outdated tech, bad graphics, absurd amount of loading screens, convoluted level designs and lack of waypoint markers are holding it back. If you liked the demo you will probably like the main game. If you didn’t, then it’s not for you.

Prey is another win for Arkane. It's a game where everyone who plays it will have a different experience. One thing is certain though – that Prey remains a consistent experience from beginning to end. Providing players with intuitive gameplay systems with great synergy, freedom to approach combat how you want and game design that rewards creativity are just three ways that Prey succeeds. While BioShock was heralded as the spiritual successor to System Shock, Prey feels like a much more successful attempt. An absolute joy to play and experience.

Now an answer to the question of whether this Prey reboot has become a gift for the gamer. On this you will receive a resounding "yes" from us. A unique story is mixed with a lot of positive aspects from other games. The end product is a space station in which you can lose yourself because of all the possibilities you have in mind.

Despite those rough patches, Prey is wholly engrossing, begging the player to solve Talos 1's many mysteries. It works well as a shooter, a stealth game and carries an 70s sci-fi vibe that is nothing short of a delight to experience.

Though it lives a little too comfortably in the shadows of its influences, Prey is a quality horror-action game

Prey means deep space, and deep gameplay. A huge space station hides thousands of game mechanics and dynamics ready to be explored by the solitary player. Its warfare is not infinite nor predestined, but makes part of a bigger picture, a bigger game, where gameplay means much more than gunplay.

Prey is challenging, fun, thought provoking, and stylish. It’s also yet another noteworthy release in what is shaping up to be an astonishingly good year for games.

Prey is truly an unique game, featuring one of the best designed space stations I´ve ever seen, along with the characteristic artistic vision of Arkane Studios. Yet, it also copies so many flaws from their previous Dishonored series, like the lackluster story-telling and most importantly, the mediocre combat. The point, where Prey simply fails is to keep the thin balance of fairness and difficulty. When the combat works, it both looks and feels great but these moments are just too rare, switched out by too many frustrating moments, overshadowing all the great things Prey implemented. Overall, I still really enjoyed my trip to the Talos I, be it, due to the amazing sandboxes or level design, the sheer amount of possibilities to experiment or the lore behind it. I was often frustrated with it, no doubt, I was often annoyed but also enchanted and stunned by it.

Prey is a great interactive artwork, comprised of a huge, non-linear adventure where the player is truly king, a deep and inspired sci-fi story. Probably the best title ever produced by Arkane Studios, and certainly a must-have for every gamer.

Prey was as immersive and in depth as I was expecting. It’s a real action adventure that will challenge anyone playing. With some interesting game mechanics and a well thought out story line to keep the player engrossed right until the end. High production values in the technical department combined with the excellently optimized PC port makes Prey one of 2017’s Game of the Year contenders. It doesn’t have the replayability that Bethesda games are known for, but not all games need to be 100 hour time sinks. Prey is a wonderfully crafted single player experience that any action/adventure fans should be checking out even at full price.
