The Bethesda Pinball pack is an odd proposition. The tables are spectacular looking and all the little touches and gameplay twists are ambitious and creative in a way I really enjoy thinking about. But, both the Skyrim and Fallout tables are held back by small annoyances and wonky design choices that just make them less fun to play than they should be. Doom ended up being my favorite of the pack, which in a way is disappointing since it is also the most traditional of the tables offered. Maybe I'm just a pinball purist. Or maybe that pinball devil has a hold on me.

If you’re interested in the games these tables are based on, you might get more out of them than I have. Hearing a Fus Ro Dah sample when a ball is saved doesn’t do anything for me, and if I have to hear a Nuka Cola reference one more time I’ll tilt the table so hard my computer will slide right off the end.

Bethesda Pinball is an impressive collection of pinball experiences based on Bethesda’s A-List hits Skyrim, Fallout, and Doom. Surprisingly complex and dynamic, these tables do a great job of capturing the feel of the game they represent while staying true to the classic pinball dynamic. Visually pleasing, challenging, and highly replayable, these tables are a perfect addition to your Zen Pinball 2 collection.

The Bethesda Pack for Pinball FX3 adds another set of three great pinball tables to the already vast lineup. The tables are creatively designed and the similarities to their respective games is amazing. The methods of completing missions can be complicated, but at the same time, that adds to the depth. Taking the time to explore all three worlds is definitely worth it.

It really is an interesting bunch of tables that any Zen Pinball fan should add to their library.

This is a pack for both pinball enthusiasts and Bethesda fans; one or the other is not enough.

The tables in the Pinball FX3 Bethesda Pack are all pretty solid, though they can get complicated at times, namely the Skyrim and Fallout tables.  While those two contain RPG-style elements to them to match up to their original video game counterparts, the Doom table is more of a traditional pinball table, though all three do have missions and quests to complete.  Overall, eleven dollars for these three tables is a pretty good deal, especially given how complex Fallout and Skyrim can be.

There’s a quote by Aristotle that says, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” I can’t think of a better description for this Bethesda table pack. Individually, these are three fantastic franchises, taken as a whole this is a fantastic pack of tables that should appeal to both pinball players as well as gamers who have never picked up a virtual pinball game.

The tables of Bethesda Pinball have great presentation, but the majority of the action is spent doing things that don't feel arcadey. The lack of focus on gameplay makes the tables feel too gimmicky to be playable for more than a few sessions.

I had a lot of fun with the Zen Pinball 2: Bethesda Table pack. The DOOM table ended up being my favorite, even though I didn’t have a connection with the recent source material – this goes to shows the strength of the table design. I liked the Fallout table since I love the Fallout universe in general, and certainly had fun playing it. I still enjoyed the Skyrim table, but it had the most flaws of the group too. Great design and aesthetic, but the table itself doesn’t reach the goals I think it was aiming for. Overall, this is a great showing for Zen Pinball 2 and a bundle you definitely need to try for yourself.

This latest trilogy pack from Zen Studios is a blast to play, and is a worthy addition for pinball enthusiasts.

'Bethesda Pinball' is easily Zen Studios' most ambitious project yet. They really went all out making sure each table feels like the game it's based upon, but that leads to mixed results when it comes to digital pinball. 'DOOM' is the real standout addition, with the two role-playing game tables getting too overly complicated. While it may not pull off every idea it attempted, I'm glad that Zen Studios isn't afraid to take risks, and that's exactly why this is still a pinball pack that is worth checking out even if it's not the developer's best adaptation.

In general, I think the Bethesda tables will appeal largely to Bethesda fans. However, the Doom table should be enjoyable to most pinball aficionados, and I daresay it alone is worth the price of admission.

Bundling together three tables based on three great games, all complete with great soundtracks and visuals properly licensed from their creators without funky alterations or replacements, the Bethesda Pinball pack is perhaps the best licensed package available in Pinball FX3 to this day, not just for the content represented, but also because of the great gameplay mechanics and systems being used here to enhance the pinball experience in unique, original ways.

As a package of three tables, I really enjoyed the Bethesda Pinball set. Fallout was average-ish, DOOM was really, really good and I thought Skyrim was great. Now, these tables with their game elements might not appeal to pinball purists. I can imagine my dad wrinkling his nose a little at these because there are times they feel more like a video game than the typical Zen Pinball tables - but I believe that works here. These tables are after all based on popular video games, and to that end I applaud the devs for taking some chances and doing something unique with these tables. The overall package is one I will be coming back to time and again.

The Bethesda Pinball collection is a decent addition the Pinball FX3 library. Sure, the DOOM table trounces over the other two with a BFG 9000, but that doesn’t mean that they’re disappointing by any means. Each one really does emphasise the game that it is based on, while the sound and visuals to all three are top notch. It’s just that the DOOM one looks, sounds and plays so well, it’s easy to ignore the others as a result.

Overall I’d consider this pack among the best available. In terms of overall theming it may actually be the strongest, with each of the Bethesda franchises well represented in terms of visuals, sounds, and trying to tie in as many elements of the games as possible. While the runaway top table is easily DOOM Skyrim may be a big winner if you’re willing to invest some time in getting your character to be viable. It’s another pack where care has been taken to make each table distinct not just in terms of theming but in flow and play as well. I look forward to whatever the Zen Studios people have in store for us next, their track record to this point has been quite impressive!
