This is a worthwhile remaster of an underappreciated SNES shooter, made better by a sharp graphical enhancement, new characters and stages, and, for the first time, four-player local co-op.

Wild Guns Reloaded is an awesome arcade shooter. Its buying point is a bit too high to recommend to anyone though, even die-hard retro game fans.

Wild Guns Reloaded is a lot of fun and without a doubt the most definitive way to enjoy Natsume’s classic gallery shooter, though it does have a few shortcomings that stop it from becoming a must-own release. Add to that a fairly steep price point, and it’s easy to see why it’s a game that’s worth grabbing on sale rather than at full price. Still, if you’re already a fan of the original or want an arcade shooting fix, Wild Guns Reloaded will undoubtedly provide hours of entertainment. It’s far from perfect, but it’s still a game that deserves some attention.

Wild Guns Reloaded is a great pickup if you enjoy the original game. If you have never played, then it can be a frustrating experience, especially on single player. The new characters and stages are fun, but the game gets repetitive pretty quickly. It can be an enjoyable co-op experience if you don't mind the repetitive gameplay aspects.

This is a game series over 20 years old and still holds true today. It is even nicer with its graphical upgrades, added characters and new levels which all feel true to the original. Many will be put off by the one-shot deaths, differing controls and toughness of this. The price of entry is also quite high compared to other consoles, but for collectors and people like me who like a tough old-school game then this is a nice return.

Wild Guns Reloaded is among one of the best examples of bringing an older title over to a newer system. While it would have been one thing to do a simple port job of this SNES cult-classic, the wealth of fresh new content adds another layer to this already excellent shooting gallery experience. Steeper price aside, this is a perfect fit for Switch offering an action-packed, fun time on your own or with friends.

Overall, there are actually a number of things I enjoy and appreciate about Wild Guns Reloaded, and I think it is a style of shooter that deserves more attempts to get right...

Wild Guns Reloaded is a must-have on Nintendo Switch, especially if you're a fan of the original Wild Guns on the Super Nintendo. The challenge of the original is still there, and the new stages, bosses, and weapons improve on the classic formula. The extra modes added on Nintendo Switch make this the definitive version, so be sure to get it today!

This game is certainly not for everyone. It can be challenging and difficult at times and while it offers a good amount of replay value, the new content doesn’t make it a worthwhile purchase if you have already bought and played it during its original release.

The game might be dated in some respects, with a punishing difficulty and steep initial difficulty curve, but it's worth powering through to learn the intricacies. Aside from that, since it does have an arcade background, it's a tiny bit on the short side with the only carrot on the end of the stick being online leaderboards. Wild Guns Reloaded might still sidle into cult classic status on Switch, but at least if you do dive into it now, it'll be with the novel new characters, stages, and polish.

For gamers who still pine for the days of polished shoot 'em ups that leave nothing to chance, Wild Guns Reloaded can't be missed. It's proof that there will always be a place in the world for "thirty-minute videogames." Sure, it doesn't take long to reach the end, but the fun is in overcoming the impossible and doing it with style. The scoring system, while not ridiculously complex, does require players to make a lot of difficult choices. However, if they are willing to put in the work, they will soon discover that this awesome game will never let them down.

Wild Guns was a lot of fun when I played it back in the day, and it definitely help the last time I took it for a spin on PlayStation 4, which makes it very easy for me to recommend the game on the Nintendo Switch, being able to play at home or on the go as you enjoy the new characters, stages and weapons, as well as having two extra modes for this version that add a little something extra on top of everything else make this one a must-have for both those of you that got to play the original release on the SNES and those who are coming into this one without any previous experience.

Wild Guns Reloaded is a real treat for old-school gamers and new fans alike. It’s not the most robust title around, but those looking for tight gameplay mechanics and great multiplayer action should take on its challenge.

Wild Guns Reloaded may be a splash of cold water in the face reminding you of just how hard games from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras could be, but it’s also a reminder of how damn fun and enjoyable they can be as well, proving that some titles are indeed timeless.

Wild Guns: Reloaded takes everything fun about the original and cranks it up to eleven, but the value proposition might be too much for some.

Wild Guns Reloaded is a nice blast from the past and one that definitely desires a playthrough. The main issue here is the fact that the game was a simple port with nothing really added with the exception of the 4-player co-op (local) and graphical polish. The lack of any online capacity will likely make many gamers ignore the title. The trophy omissions are also puzzling since Natsume took the time to upscale the graphical side of things but nothing else. The asking price is simply too high for less than an hour of gameplay with no online leaderboards, no online co-op, all of which simply kill any changes this title may have had.

Wild Guns: Reloaded is a decent way to experience the SNES classic, but it’s brought down by some rather odd design choices. The new characters are difficult to use and are probably best left for die-hard players, leaving newcomers to feel left out. No additions have been made from a design standpoint to make the game more accessible, and it’s too difficult for its own good. Check it out if you’re already a fan, but this is a severely disappointing package otherwise.
