Troll and I Reviews
Troll and I is a horrible game, it doesn´t offer a good story or characters, doesn´t understand how to copy its gameplay-elements successfully and suffers from a consistent flow of bad design choices. Spiral House clearly didn´t know what Coop games need and how to design them, had no consitent vision for their game and failed at nearly everything they tried. Combined with the amount of bugs and gamebreaking moments, I could never enjoy the game or understand how this got through playtesting. However, the worst part for me is, that it even fails at delivering an enjoyable Coop experience.
Throughout, Troll and I often raises the question of just how much testing was done to spot and correct mistakes.
Troll and I is ambitious but rubbish, the mechanics are flawed and the storytelling is very weak.
Do not, under any circumstances, play Troll and I. Don't buy it on sale. Don't pirate it. Don't rent it from your local A-Z Video. Just. Say. No. The only benefit Troll and I may bring to the world is when your favorite YouTuber plays through it and provides you with many funny moments as they struggle.
There’s plenty I wanted to like about Troll and I. But in the end, I can’t think of any part of my time with the game that I really enjoyed.
I've said all I needed to say in the body of the review. There's just not way to summarise my experience with the game other than to say it was total, utter, crap.
Rough around the edges, Troll and I ends with as laughable a moment as it starts – even having the cruelty to leave your adventures in the Nordic wilderness open to a sequel. Spiral House has longed for the stars to align to allow them a chance to work on a game built from their own ideas. Let us hope that this nightmare has now ended, and they can find something far better to dream about.
The game failed so hard at doing anything, the story is just bad, the combat is limited and boring and the game is full of glitches. Whatever you are looking for, you will not find it in Troll and I

Troll and I suffers from having champagne ambitions on a beer budget and is marred by a plethora of issues. Seriously subpar technical, design, narrative and gameplay elements make it a borderline insufferable experience, and as a result the game cannot be recommended to anyone at all, let alone at its AAA price
I'd say it's shocking Troll and I is as bad as it is, but it's really not. It takes so many good ideas from other games and uses them completely wrong. It tries to tell a simple story and totally stumbles over it. It lies to you about how to progress the game. Finally, in a co-op game, it somehow fails at making the co-op fun. Just avoid this game.
Troll and I was a miserable experience in just about every way imaginable. There are technical problems abound and the sum parts of its design baffle. Don't play it out of curiosity, you won't enjoy it.
I was greatly disappointed with Troll and I, this is why we should not expect too much. It saddens me.
Do yourself a favor and purchase either of the new Tomb Raider games for less than you’d be paying if you bought Troll and I.
Slapping down poor video games never brings me much pleasure, especially those that genuinely show promise. While it has a unique setting and some solid ideas, boring level design and a general lack of imagination when piecing together all of these components leaves me with very little to praise.
Troll and I has a pretty big price tag so I wouldn't be rushing out to purchase it any time soon as the quality of the gameplay doesn't justify it.
Maximum Games have a solid premise throughout Troll and I, and the game can be made much better with patches, but ultimately Troll and I will be lost to the vast majority of players who are unwilling to see the game for its good points opposed to its potential.
Spiral House's Troll and I has a charming storyline but the game has a lot of issues.
I really was disappointed in just how every area of Troll and I just seemed to fail to even be half way decent. The whole idea was interesting but the far out of date visuals, bad and frustrating game design, boring story and all the glitches just make this game hard to recommend to anyone especially given the price.
Overall, Troll And I tries too many things at the same time. It's a classic case of a development studio getting over ambitious and failing to achieve their goals with the game. With more development time, Troll And I could have provided a memorable experience but right now players should stay well away from it.
This is one Troll that should have stayed under the bridge.
