Touhou Genso Wanderer Reviews
Touhou Genso Wanderer can feel like a lot to take on at times. As beginners to the series, a lot of time was spent feeling as if we were on the back foot and had missed chunks of tutorial content. The game's fun enough to begin with but becomes frustrating very quickly, and ultimately doesn't offer enough excitement to sustain any interest that it may have piqued early on.
Touhou Genso Wanderer is a rogue-like spin-off of the Touhou series. With fancy opening cinematics, tsukkomi humour, and enough characters to populate a small village, Genso Wanderer definitely paints a colorful world for the female dominant cast. Genso Wanderer has you guide the a lazy shrine maiden, Reimu, through a mysterious(ish) tower that has appeared because a local shop owner, Rinnoske, discovered an evil artifact that possessed him. Now it is up to Reimu to solve the incident, which is apparently in her job description.
A proper roguelike in Touhou Project universe. Made for fans, but solid gameplay should appeal also to the others.

Touhou is a game that thrives on difficult but fun gameplay, but may be to much for those not interested in the series.
Overall, Touhou Genso Wanderer is a fun roguelike dungeon crawler with plenty of content to enjoy and a considerable challenge. One false move could be the end of your journey, but you will always learn from the experience and get ready to try it all over again. You'll spend dozens of hours trying to see everything the game has to offer as you journey towards that shiny Platinum trophy at the end of the road.
