The point I am trying to make, I suppose, is that if someone were to ask me if they should buy or play Final Fantasy XII, I would answer that watching a video of someone else playing the game would achieve roughly the same effect as playing the game themselves. If you enjoyed Final Fantasy XII upon its original release – bless you – having the opportunity to play it three times as fast is a godsend, as the plodding pace of all of its playable characters both in and out of combat is surmounted and its near-excruciating grind is made one-third as fast. But otherwise, I can see no reason to look into this game outside of watching a Youtube video.

Final Fantasy XII feels like one of those games that has gotten more appreciation with age, and that feeling is richly deserved.

Final Fantasy XII could have been better with a less convoluted development —anyway, this is the best version of a very interesting game.

Final Fantasy XII was definitely a great game, for some the best of the franchise and really deserved a remastering as good as it is Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, which is undoubtedly the ultimate version that encompasses all the fantasy, gameplay, history and great characters of the original and makes it more accessible for new and old fans of the series.

This remaster is definitely the way Final Fantasy XII is meant to be played. If you've already played the original to death, there's enough changes and improvements here to warrant your time and money. If you've never experienced the twelfth numbered title in this series, now would be the greatest time to finally jump in.

Final Fantasy XII deserves to be a part of your JRPG journey. With a deep, twisting plot and a focus on how politics and war muddies up things for so many other people. This game rewards exploration, tenacity and plumbing the depths of its systems.

There are so many Final Fantasy titles with their own followings that it is impossible to say which ones are the best and the worst, but Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age allows us to revisit one of the more popular titles in the series that has aged pretty well since its initial PlayStation 2 release.

For once, Square Enix did not do a lazy remaster with Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. Those who have already played the game will discover almost a different Ivalice filled with a reworked musical themes and a more sustained rhythm of play.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age was something I wanted for quite some time now and I am thankful that it came out. The base game is engaging and interesting enough without the changes but the changes they implemented were very much welcomed.

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age takes everything that was great about the game when it originally released and improves upon it tenfold, with the expanded Licence Boards, improved visuals and audio, enhanced gameplay, and host of extra additions coming together to make for a fantastically produced package. It doesn’t only give players a chance to play through a classic RPG once more, but also gives those who weren’t so keen on the divisive title the first time around the chance to give it one more try. There are still a few issues that simply can’t be changed, but as a whole I thoroughly recommend Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age. It’s one of the best remastered releases I’ve played so far and I’m glad to finally have been able to finish the game in its freshly enhanced state.

The game is incredibly fun to play with a fantastic story, battles are interesting and entertaining, the features it has really make for a huge game with many hours of playtime, the license board and gambit feature really make you think about your party composition and strategy and just to top it off, it’s now been completely enhanced with new graphics and sound.

Final Fantasy XII is a classic title which can be played enjoyably without considering its release time. Luckily, the game is slightly more than just a remaster and some changes in gameplay core makes it a modern and pleasant experience. Even if you are not into Final Fantasy, you can still relish it.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age allows me to experience the world of Ivalice all over again and it felt fresh and exciting at the same time. It brought back the sense of nostalgia while not making it feel redundant overall. It has proven that it was and still is a huge leap forward in the RPG genre. The game fills me up with the sense of adventure just like it did before. So don't be afraid if you hated it at first. The 2nd try could be the charm you need to create your ultimate automative RPG instant kill squad.

Remasters tend to be rather hit and miss due to how many changes they have made, but Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is definitely one of the most intriguing for those in the US due to it having all of the International Version content. While the game may be over a decade old, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age may very well be one of the best RPGs to release in 2017 when all is said and done.

It looks and sounds great, but even this remaster’s improvements and decent combat doesn’t make the story any better.

Not only is Final Fantasy XII one of the finest RPG’s out there, but Final Fantasy: The Zodiac age is also one of the finest remasters of a true classic out there. Well done, Square Enix. You caught me hook, line and sinker with this one.

Other than the limits of remastering the visuals of the old classic, there were no disappointments in the gameplay elements at all. With the added convenience on top of the above standard user interface, the gameplay session was much smoother than expected. Unlike the original, the new functionality allows players to pre-set their Gambits as well as forming new License Boards any time you want. Biggest improvement of course is the quick transition between loading times. All in all it’s a positive update well fit for the current generation of consoles.
