A charming little game that melds action and puzzle elements together quite nicely, Kamiko is a pleasure to play and experience. It doesn't last too long, and some of the enemies are rather easy to dispatch - but the different characters and their unique weapons make it a good game to replay, and the speedrun elements add to the fun. Overall it's a great way to spend a few hours, and that cheap launch price definitely doesn't hurt its value any.

KAMIKO is a well put together and simple, yet rewarding experience on Nintendo Switch. The controls are easy, the levels are great, and the playable characters are interesting in their own unique ways. The graphic design is pleasant and the same can be said for the sound track. KAMIKO is not a very long game, but you’re not paying a large entry price either, making it a pleasant experience all around. There are no detractors to mention, so just head on over to our KAMIKO listing and check it out as it regularly goes on sale. You won’t be disappointed.

Kamiko is short, but it’s only $5. It’s easy to pick up and play for a short time. The three characters offer up unique ways to play, the boss fights are fun, and the speed-runs add to the lasting appeal. Overall, Kamiko is great!

What it lacks in quantity it generally makes up for in quality and some good ideas, I just wish they been expanded upon and resulted in a more memorable experience, rather than a merely adequate one.

Kamiko is a fun, light game you can easily pick up and enjoy. Despite its brevity and lack of narrative, the time spent cleansing shrines and wandering the world Flyhigh created made for a memorable experience.

All of us at some point in our lives would have bought a much more inferior game than Kamiko that would have lasted a lot longer. But at the end of the day, if you get a better game at a very low price, regardless of how long the experience lasts, if you asked me which is the better deal of the two, I would go with Kamiko every day.

KAMIKO is a short but fun Nintendo Switch release. A single run can take as little as 30 minutes to complete, and once you're done you can do it all over again with a different character. Three complete runs will therefore take less than 2 hours, but it's a very entertaining ride while it lasts. The game is only $4.99 and its gameplay, music and graphics make it well worth the price of admission. There's also some extra secrets to find in this adventure, not to mention that the game will record your time for each character so that you can aim to speedrun the game. And perhaps something good will happen when you complete the game with all three characters…

That being said, I can easily admit that the game is super short and the levels won't change on future playthroughs. If you have seen the content once, you will know the game inside out. That might a sticking point for some, but the various characters do make it worth your while.

Kamiko costs about $4.99 and can be beaten in under an hour. Visually, it is nothing impressive or interesting... There are far better looking pixel art games out there on the Switch, such as Blaster Master Zero. The core mechanics aren't broken or anything, it is completely serviceable, but it just lacks anything of interest to make Kamiko worth any time at all.

Every aspect comes down to being simple and fast, which works in many ways but doesn't create a very dynamic experience. The four levels task you with repetitive tasks, but thankfully because of the short length, the gameplay really doesn't overstay its welcome. I would recommend Kamiko to anyone who enjoys fast action and is looking for a short arcade-like experience to play on Nintendo's latest console.

We did find ourselves wishing for a better story and slightly more in terms of gameplay, and the length of the game. However, the game's short length keeps it from feeling overly repetitive.

Kamiko's quaint, pick-up-and-play nature makes it a fantastic fit on Nintendo's versatile console.

Each level has its own theme, its own puzzles that teach you what to expect with the final boss, and in the end, I couldn't help but feel satisfied by Kamiko even if I wanted more. Few games these days are up front and honest about their value. Even with its short playtime, I'd have paid more for Kamiko because it's so expertly made. I can only hope we get a sequel or something equally excellent from developer SKIPMORE and soon.

A short hack n' slash that's disappointingly average at best despite glimpses of a better game underneath it.

Stunningly stylish and with an irresistibly kinetic sense of motion, Kamiko is a true gem. It's a quick ride, to be sure, but gorgeous pixel-art visuals, a lush soundtrack and three very different characters with plenty of speedrunning potential make it well worth coming back to. A uniquely appealing, action-packed package for less than the price of a prayer plaque, this is an easy recommendation for any Switch owner.

Kamiko is a fun pick-up and play experience, with great visuals, good gameplay, and makes for a fun retro-inspired experience. It's worth exploring the game with each of the 3 characters just to see how different they actually play, which adds some replay value to the title. If you are looking for an inexpensive game for a weekend playthrough, Kamiko is a good pick.

Kamiko brings a healthy dose of skilled enemy-destroying action topped off with an incentive to finish its levels as quickly as possible and break new records with every occasion. Overall, it's an accessible and fun game to play that provides a good challenge and characters that are different enough to try all of them, even if it could use some performance rankings and a bit of an improvement of its audiovisual component.

absolutely love the colorful art style that makes up the set pieces that themselves tell a story of a forgotten post-apocalyptic world, and the soundtrack is composed of retro-inspired chiptune. While the game is quite short, what is here is worth playing for the cost of entry.
