Despite some significant deficiencies in the gameplay department, Get Even more than makes up for dull shooting and inconsistent, frustrating stealth with a well-told, genuinely emotional and thought-provoking take on the "enter memories/dreams" concept.

Get Even is made up of a plethora of different gameplay aspects, though none of them are masterfully crafted in a way that helps define the game. You’ve got your exploration, your puzzle solving, your sneaky stealth moments, and even moments of all out action in hectic gunfights, though none of these things are done to the extent that you’d really label Get Even a particular genre. It’s not a flaw though; as I’ve said, Get Even is a ‘jack of all trades, master of none’, yet it all works together to make for an entertainingly unique experience. You’re not going to be blown away by what Get Even offers and it often lacks the polish that a triple-A title holds, but it does more than enough to justify a playthrough. If you fancy playing something a little different to the norm that’ll hook you in with its engaging story and entertaining gameplay, it’s certainly worth giving Get Even a try.

If you like story driven first person adventure games, then you can’t go wrong with this. It’s inventive, brilliantly told and designed, with great voice over work.

A wonderful experience ruined by poor design and baffling gameplay decisions. Get Even is still worth a shot, even with all of these problems, just to experience the story, but I’d highly recommend you wait for a sale and pick it up for even cheaper than it already is.

Overall, it may be possible to enjoy Get Even, if you´re a sucker for interesting story-ideas, exploration-fanatic and a graphic lover (I guess), yet, Shooter fans will definetly not be satisfied with it.

It is a unique experience on its own. Looking out for clues and figuring them out, especially to move on to the next level feels like Sherlock. It has a lot of moments where you are confused, angry, sad or the amusement of saying out loud 'what the Fs going on.' The moment you find solve a puzzle – you just want find more. It's quite addicting. It has a great storytelling as you explore your memories and memories of others. Prepare freaky scenes, peculiar characters and an ambitious story.

Playing on a minimalist gameplay and offering the worst experience as an FPS, Get Even nevertheless succeeds as a suspense story experience. With a great mood, clean soundtrack, and well narrated story, Get Even can be captivating even if filled with some clichés.

There's a rough-cut, lo-fi patina to Get Even that adorns its good ideas like graffiti. With its edges scuffed and its heart in the right place, it feels like that now endangered species: the AA release. Long live dirty, flawed experimentation. This one’s different.

Get Even is a spectacular genre-bending indie with a number of novel ideas only hampered by a few marginal technical bumps in the road. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers and are looking for something fresh and exciting, this is the game for you!

A series of very interesting concepts which unfortunately do not come together well, while also attempting to achieve a photorealistic look that is never achieved in full. Nevertheless a touching story about connection, given the reduced price point, it's definitely something you should play if you have nothing else lined up in your backlog.

In short, we can say that we are in front of a title not so bad, especially in relation to the sale price, but it could have been much better managed, both at the gameplay level and at the technical level.

So what is Get Even you ask? It unites shooter, exploration and horror elements into a new psycho thriller experience. Its biggest strength is the phenomenal sound design and a unique story with decent replay value. The weak points are the unpolished gunplay and lack of scary material for which there was a lot of potential.

Get Even is great game for mystery fans, the story is very unique and won't stop surprising you. Although the beginning requires some patience due to the slow rhythm and not having enough events going on. The graphics are not suited for PlayStation 4 and Xbox one, which makes it harder to fight dizziness with the first-person view.

Get Even is a memorable experience and a well-delivered psychological thriller. Music and audio design stand as its high point, alongside the visuals and gameplay creating an immersive atmosphere. It truly is The Farm 51's best title to date, and Bandai Namco was right to give them the extra time needed to complete it.
