Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is the ultimate follow-up to the first collection, and brings us to a full 10 Mega Man games now available on the PS4. This collection boasts some truly high quality Mega Man experiences, as well as a large number of challenges for experienced players. The Mega Man games speak for themselves largely on quality, but they have been packaged here in a very attractive and improved fashion.

The respect that Capcom and Digital Eclipse have poured into this is evident and absolutely commendable. Where I didn't particularly care for the franchise before, I do now, and while I won't ever put in the time to be great at these games, I'm glad I at least have a convenient, complete, and awesome one-stop place to go to play and celebrate this series on my own time.

It may come as no surprise, then, that Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is a great companion package to complete the original canon saga. It wouldn’t surprise me if the newer generation of gamers would actually favour this over the first, due to the technically more advanced graphics and more ambitious ways that Capcom had stirred up the formula.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 contain a great set of games. The Switch version is the definitive version of the first Legacy Collection with Legacy Collection 2 following along in its shadow. Rewind is a great feature, while armor mode is lacking any sparkle. If you're going to pick up this collection, digitally is definitely the better offer.

Mega Man fans will either love or hate returning to the later entries from the franchise found in Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, but the new Challenges will give any player a run for their money and should be worth checking out.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 gathers up four great Mega Man games that are otherwise hard to find and play. However, Capcom's stitched-together presentation for the titles and lack of extra options leaves a lot to be desired in this post-Digital Eclipse world.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is worth it for 9 alone, but you'll also get to experience several legacy games that were passed by. I'm still holding water for 8 all these years later, and due to some amazingly camp artwork and stellar animations, it's one of the most "showable" Mega Man games to date. I think a lot of people are going to be pleasantly surprised by it, as well as the near flawlessness of 9 -- even if 7 and 10 are just as wart-filled as they always were.

All things considered, the inherent value of Mega Man Legacy Collections one and two can only be determined by specific player interest. These collections might be nice and new, but the experiences within are distinctly old-school, providing the sort of gritty, challenging platforming action that feels increasingly rare in the current era of gaming.

Whilst not as authentically original as the first legacy collection, Capcom's latest set of re-releases more than makes up for it with this diverse quartet of great games.

Mega Man & Bass's omission sucks, and I wish the whole thing had more extras, but these are still four great 2D platformers. If you're a big fan of Mega Man (like me), it's nice to have these game's easily accessible on modern systems (unless that modern system is the Switch, which would actually be a great place for this). And all four games play great, so the ports are solid. If you're more of a mild Mega Man player, you might be content to just own the first Legacy Collection.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 has more variety than its predecessor due to the titles spanning both different systems and different decades. Just like the Disney Afternoon Collection, there's a plethora of bonus content included here, spanning art galleries and music libraries. This is another essential compilation for fans of the Blue Bomber.

Some new players might be off put by the jump in quality between the older and newer games in the pack, or even the difficulty some of these provide, but for the price, it's a nice little package to have.

Each of the games in Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 are classics in their own right, even if they don't quite match up to the fan favourite Mega Man 2. These are faithful ports with no apparent technical issues present, so there's not much to complain about.

Now that Capcom has ported all of the main entry games to console, I hope that they bring us the Mega Man X games next in a collection. Or maybe even Mega Man Legends 3 — a guy can dream, right? If you haven't played the original six games, I'd say the original Mega Man Legacy Collection is a better buy in terms of quality when compared to this one, but nonetheless, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is still great, and the best way to replay these classics.

It's difficult not to recommend "Mega Man Legacy Collection 2," but it's just doesn't quite reach the nostalgic overload of its predecessor.

With just four included games, it arguably may not be quite the value that the original MMLC was, and it's a bit disappointing we won't be seeing these games on the portable consoles (3DS and Switch) considering how well they'd translate to those platforms... but regardless, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is the most sensible way to enjoy these four games that exists today.

Like the original Mega Man Legacy Collection, this second bundle of games and associated extras isn't likely to overly impress anyone that's not already a fan of the Blue Bomber. Those who have grown up playing Mega Man games, however, will absolutely love it. The controls are responsive, performance is solid, and the number of added features and challenges is commendable, making Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 a must-buy for fans who long for a taste of nostalgia.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is a package destined for Mega Man fans or for those who are looking for great action 2D platformers. However, it is also a great package for newcomers that are not familiar with classic Mega Man, since it contains some of the best games in the series.
