Not for moi, and that's final.

Chloe have an outstanding character and Deck Nine did a great job replacing Max supernatural power with the backtalk ability which fits very well with Chloe as the main character. In the first episode Awake we witness Chloe and Rachel relationship develop but in general it's still missing exciting events. Life is strange still offers one of the best video game soundtracks you could ever find, it really reflects on the characters emotions making it easier for the players to connect with them. The game has a unique art style but unfortunately I didn't notice any improvement in graphics.

Ultimately, I want to enjoy Before the Storm as much as I did Life is Strange, but I think some serious shifts will have to take place between this episode and the next in order for me to really get onboard.

Life Is Strange: Before The Storm gets off to a moderately good start. Its characters are interesting, but the plot is entirely unclear right now, and is moving in a direction I'm not all that invested in.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm is an underwhelming start to a miniseries that still has plenty of promise. Deck Nine has shown it can create lovable characters and believable drama, yet fails to cohesively implement them into the experience. That being said, things could easily improve from here.

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm's Episode 1: Awake focus on themes of depression, loss, and the inability to fit in, which it does an excellent job at presenting throughout this first episode. Sadly, the episode's main focus on Chloe and Rachel's friendship can feel a little forced early on, but inevitably lands on plausible after learning about the mental state of each of the characters.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm: Episode 1 has got off to a little bit of a stuttering start for me. I was very disappointed by the art style of choice, but the story that is unfolding will certainly be the most impactful feature of the game, much like the first. If the franchise is something you are in love with, then it will be a no brainer as I can’t really see them messing up the story.

Though it’s hard to call Before the Storm a necessary follow-up on the basis of this first episode, it does add some welcome shading to the characters of Chloe and Rachel.

The first episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm provides a lesson in interactive story-type adventure games. Instead of silly QTEs and simplistic puzzle-solving, its only focus seems to be the story - or, to be more precise, the characters involved in it. It's the first tiny step of what seems to be a small journey, and it kind of feels like an intro rather than a full chapter, but it's so emotive and deeply immersive that it won't really matter.

Although this game is better than most of the games being made these days still, you can not compare it to the original Life is Strange. We've only seen just one-third of the whole game and the decent thing to do is to wait for the other parts to judge the game. Of course, if you have played the first game you will enjoy this one. One thing that is clear is that the developers are still sticking with the first game's standards. But the question is can they do this to the end of the game or not...

The most important features of the game are providing a very lively and varied characters and all the different colors of the spectrum, and it has been able to provide a new world full of details that encourage you and reward you to explore, you throughout the game will not be bored of the exploration, the story remains a little vague and not clear enough Which is the most important defects and of course we will wait to see if the choices we have made will benefit us and change the game world or not.

A quietly compelling return to Oregon, which substitutes sci-fi gimmickry for an earnest look at growing up.

The new Life is Strange story is not as charming and exciting as the original one, but it makes a nice comeback to familiar world and atmosphere.

Though it doesn't feel quite as "high stakes" as its predecessor, Life is Strange: Before The Storm - Episode 1: Awake is a very promising start to Deck Nine's new prequel miniseries.

Dontnod's first season of Life is Strange is a wonderful work, and one of the finest episodic adventure games of its kind. That's a lot to live up to, but Deck Nine does a top job recreating what fans love about the series while setting up a new story to be told about a pair of young women bound by new, exciting feelings and a shared distrust of the world around them.

It feels great to be back in Arcadia Bay. Deck Nine hasn't lost the magic of Life is Strange and this first chapter of the prequel lets us imagine a touching story with great characters and probably counting decisions.

I've got plenty of minor quibbles, but this is still an impressively solid start to a product that has an awfully special predecessor to live up to. I'm just hoping that this doesn't end up feeling like a prequel that nobody really needed.

Before the Storm is an eagerly awaited second album, but it's one we're going to have to pay attention to before we can see what it really is.

Episode One: Awake of Before the Storm is a surprisingly promising entry for the short three-episode series. There's the right amount of callbacks to the series that made so many fans fall in love with Chloe and Max in the first place. While I still wish the dialogue wasn't as teenager cringe-y in a not-realistic way, there's far more of it this time around that plain isn't. Hell, even Chloe's eventual over-usage of "hella" is explained in a tongue-in-cheek nod to the future. For everyone who was worried about Before the Storm's authenticity under the reigns of a new developer: don't be.
