Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Reviews
MvC: I has a lot going for it, but part of where it struggles to continually impress is in its presentation. From the boring menus to the good, but not great, character animations, it's a little underwhelming in this regard, but still fun and I have not experienced any framerate issues. These gripes aside, I'm having a lot of fun with the game and it feels like a more accessible entry than others in the series.
For decades Capcom has been at the forefront of making compelling and high-quality 2D fighters. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that despite how polished the game feels, with its newly revamped audio tracks, revitalized roster and extemporaneous movement abilities, that I still long for the days where the X-Men filled the ranks of playable characters. While that is a hot button point of contention with the game and its fans, Marvel Versus Capcom: Infinite is by far and large the highest quality and, not to mention, most fun 2D fighting game to come out in years.
Marvel's and Capcom's universes come together and challenge each other again in one of the most comprehensive fighting games at the moment. Both universes merge to bring us a fighting experience as deep as spectacular, which will not leave new players and veterans of the franchise indifferent. Spectacular.

If you were skeptical about Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite like I was, don't be. It's a blast to play and it's a must-own for fighting game fans.
Infinite is a great fighting game, which succeds in mixing both universes with a great combat system. Combat feels great, but it falls short on game modes and unlockables.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite will probably please the competitive players with its very good netcode and new mechanics that bring new life to the classic series. However, the recycled cast and the lack of polishment in the single-player content can push away the more casual players.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite has perfectly competent core gameplay, with some welcome touches to make things more accessible to newcomers, but is let down by everything around that gameplay loop. Character designs, voice acting, writing, and just about everything about the story mode are all well below what one of the year's biggest fighting games should be offering, and that's enough to ruin even the simple joy of watching Thor pick a fight with Ryu.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite continues the franchise's tradition for packing a punch with its depth and replayability, but the lackluster campaign, abysmal secondary modes and middling presentation do little to help justify the full-price tag. Those dedicated to the series and genre will likely be pleased with what the latest entry has to offer, but those outside the bubble would be better off waiting for a bigger roster, and hopefully, updates and additions to the current offerings.
It plays as well as the series ever has, and is far more accessible than previous entries, but there's infinite for improvement in terms of the roster and presentation.
Marvel vs Capcom Infiinite is a good and fun game, with nice simplified mecanics and a really cool story mode. Too sad its roster lacks some iconic fighters like the X-Men at launch...

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite has some noteworthy kinks, but for all of its warts, it still feels like a Marvel game at its core. And while it's not always pleasant to look at, it's still every bit as fun to play as its predecessors. Capcom even seems to have gone the extra mile with its netcode, as I experienced minimal lag during all of my online matches.
It's hard to deny how much of a blemish Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's visuals are, but it would still be a mistake to skip this entry for that reason alone. The fast tagging system and the Infinity Stones change up the series' standard mechanics and open up so many options for creative play, no matter your skill level. Infinite is expressive, exciting and fun to play, but the visuals inspire more eyerolls than the hype this series deserves.
Even with all my complaints, I couldn't help but enjoy my time with Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. I really, really enjoy playing the game and playing with the variety of characters - it's just a shame that when combining two amazing universes such as Capcom and Marvel so much feels restrained or held back. Infinite might be the next big esports fighter, but this feels like a rough launch.
With Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 still the bigger and arguably better game, you might wonder why MvC: Infinite exists at all. After extended play, the reason is clear. Fans of the MCU ought to get a kick out of it, while fight fans of all skill levels will find something to like too. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is a fun and accessible fighter that still has hidden depths to be mastered. It's good.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is more complete than Street Fighter V, and its accessible bouts fare favourably – even though they're likely to divide long-time franchise fans. But this package lacks the polish that you'd expect from such a high-profile title, and even accounting for its forgettable story, it still winds up feeling light.
Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite has a lot of issues, many of which are hard to ignore, but it still ends up being an enjoyable experience thanks to its solid yet simplistic blend of mechanics.
A fast and exciting game with some successful changes and a decent amount of content, let down only by some lackluster presentation and a lack of a reason for those who prefer to play it alone to come back to it.

While Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's tag-team fights are like a bolt of lightning from Mjolnir, its story is dreadful and its characters look like they were deliberately designed to spawn a million derpy memes. It manages to be easily one of the worst and also one of the best fighting games in recent memory all at once. Like its heroes and villains, it's stuck between two worlds.
